Ellie and Kyle spent eleven years together before getting engaged. After meeting as high school sweethearts, they navigated a long-distance relationship as Kyle played hockey and attended the University of Arkansas while Ellie studied at the University of Texas at Austin. After college, Kyle moved back to Dallas – just as Ellie relocated to Arkansas for work, completely swapping places and once again facing the challenges of long-distance dating! One afternoon, Ellie met Kyle for what she believed was just a routine client lunch. “Little did I know,” she recalls, “he was proposing, and then had a surprise trip to Aspen planned, with my bags already packed!” Luminous elegance defined Ellie and Kyle’s wedding, set against the backdrop of the upscale Beaux-Arts-style Adolphus Hotel. Photographed by Tracy Autem Photography and planned with the help of A Stylish Soiree, fabulously fashionable wedding featured one of our favorite wedding accessories: the bridal cape!

A heartfelt morning-of surprise
On the morning of the wedding, Ellie awoke to a coffee and a heartfelt note left outside her door by Kyle – an instant source of comfort as the day’s preparations began.

Anne Barge & a bridal cape
Ellie wore a classic silk gown by Anne Barge, complemented by a showstopping custom Gemy Maalouf cape embroidered with delicate florals.

Bridesmaid style: pink & white
Her bridesmaids wore strapless pink silk floor-length dresses from Bella Bridesmaids and carried matching white rose bouquets.

Floating candles & handwritten vows
The ceremony was a vision of sophistication, with floating candles lining the aisle and a striking altar featuring white pillars with arrangements organized by floral type thanks to florist Branching Out. One of the couple’s most cherished moments was exchanging handwritten vows – an idea Ellie had initially hesitated about but later described as one of the most meaningful parts of the day.

Deeply personal favors: handwritten letters
As a deeply personal touch, the couple wrote individualized letters to each guest, placed inside envelopes, and nestled in a bed of flowers. “Each note was unique,” Ellie shared, “recalling a special memory, funny story, or heartfelt message. So many guests couldn’t stop raving about them and thought it was such a thoughtful detail!”
