A real-life guide for bringing an Italian Renaissance wedding to life

Share

Italian-inspired wedding

Marco and Alice hosted their wedding in the former feudal estate of Commenda di San Calogero, which houses one of the most well-preserved country houses in Sicily. Located on the outskirts of the Ibleo plateau and north of Syracuse with views of Mount Etna, this was the perfect setting for an elegantly simple, aristocratic, pastel wedding. The pastel colors enhanced the beauty of the venue and nature of Sicily, giving images that were reminiscent of an Italian Renaissance painting. Planned with the help of Tania Costantino from Sicilian Wedding and Event, and captured on camera by Alberto Cosenza and Torre Films, this wedding is a must-see for anyone thinking of a destination wedding in Italy!

After-the-fact advice

“If you decide to plan a destination wedding in Sicily, make sure to hire a professional and local wedding planner (and team!) who can help you develop your vision and who can assist you in any specific details required because they really know the setting. Make sure to also focus on emphasizing an excellent and memorable Sicilian experience to your guests, as they are traveling quite a long way and should absolutely be exposed to Sicilian hospitality and activities!”
