something blue bridal bouquet ribbon

College sweethearts Abby Claire and Will met their freshman year and began like so many couples do – as friends. The two were fortunate enough to study abroad in Oxford, England, where they spent their free time traveling Europe together, and the rest – as they say – was history! They began having talks about plans for the future, ultimately becoming engaged during their senior year of college and getting married the summer after they graduated.

The bride’s father custom built two grand wooden arches for their ceremony space

Abby Claire fulfilled her dream of designing a wedding inspired by her love of the film, “Father of the Bride.” Their lakeside wedding – hosted at their family home in Texas – embraced the fun and fresh feeling of summer. The bride’s father built the ceremony space, which included two grand wooden arches (that Blumen Floral Co. decked out in an extravagant display of colorful blooms) and a low stage. Abby Claire’s gown was a twist on a modern classic, made from a textured Swiss dot fabric with a corseted bodice, ruffled shoulder straps, and back cut-out details, paired elegantly with a veil scattered with pearls.

Bold blues and bright whites were complemented by fresh herbs and citrus

A vibrant color story of bold blue and white decor was woven in with tasteful citrus-colored flowers. Cheerfully mixed and matched vintage-style goblets and chinoiserie vases made the reception just as colorful underneath the sailcloth tent where citrus fruits and fresh herbs made their way into both the floral arrangements and table decor.
