An apple orchard was the perfect venue for this chic, rustic wedding

photobooth bus

Emily and Pete's journey started back in college when the two would occasionally cross paths throughout their time in school. In 2016, Pete was in Australia doing a year of study abroad and noticed on social media that Emily had plans to head to New Zealand for 6 months to travel. They arranged to meet in Queenstown, NZ with no solid plans, but the two ended up having a spontaneous bar night that led to a trip to Milford Sound the next day. Two days later, they parted ways and Pete told Emily he would wait for her back home in Canada when she was done with her travels. They spoke every day and reunited in the Toronto airport after many months apart - the rest, as they say, is history!

Worried about being overwhelmed with emotion at your ceremony? Why not bring in some laughter with beer boys!

Both Pete and Emily were very emotional during the first look and their vows. Their wedding was the first time both of their families and extended families were all together after the pandemic, so everyone was very excited and emotional, as well. One of the top favorite moments of the ceremony was the beer boys (cousins of the couple) who threw out cans of Brantview Orchard's ciders to guests before the bride walked down the aisle.

Using rustic colors in a more modern setting create the perfect blend of both vibes

For their wedding day, Emily and Pete went for a rustic and vintage feel with a few modern twists. They kept a lot of the decor simple with pops of lush greens, white florals, and tones of dusty pinks. A highlight from their special day that helped them pull of the rustic, yet modern vibe in a really fun way was their vintage photo booth bus - it made for some really cute portraits!

Pets are a great way to add that special - and adorable! - personal touch

The couple had some personal touches throughout their wedding, such as having their dog on the label of the wine they provided during dinner. Pete's family sang a traditional song that they sing before every meal, and they even wrote the song on the menu so Emily's family could sing along too!

A sparkler exit has become such a fun, classic way to end the night!

Everyone partied and danced the night away, but the photographer did manage to get everyone outside for some beautiful sparkler photos where Pete and Emily had the absolute best time running up and down the aisle of sparkers as their guests cheered them on! It was a really fun way for them to end a gorgeous day of celebration.
