Wedding Submission from Chelsea Nicole Photography

Bobby and Erin met in Las Vegas in 2009. From becoming possible roommates, to Bobby proposing on a lake near his house where he and Erin shared their first kiss they knew it was meant to be. They set a date for March 26th, 2016 and got to planning! Being laid-back and easygoing but still wanting something beautiful and inviting, they set their hearts on the Historic Fifth Street School in downtown Las Vegas. Dark wooden tables, runners of greenery and flowers in different shades of white transformed this open, outdoorsy venue into the romantic space Erin had envisioned. Cocktail hour consisted of fun lawn games and BBQ was on the menu for dinner! One of my favorite small details of the wedding was the “doggie bags”, which were for guests to take home the mini pies they had as dessert. Their two dogs are their “fur-babies", so Erin and Bobby needed to make sure they were included in the wedding. They came up with the idea of making a sticker of them to put on the doggie bags for the pies, which served as favors for the guests! With the guests and even myself riding the waves of love and joy between the bride & groom, the day couldn't have been any more perfect! - From the bride, Erin: Bobby and I met in Las Vegas in the Summer of 2009. Bobby is a firefighter, and I work in Early Intervention. (Children 0-3 with developmental delays) My friend and I were looking for a place to live, and a mutual friend of my friend and Bobby pointed us in his direction. Turns out we didn’t end up moving in, so since we weren’t going to be his roommates, he figured he could ask me out! (That would be weird dating a roommate and all) So fast forward to Fall of 2014- Bobby proposed to me where we shared our fist kiss, on a lake near his house. We set a date for March 26th, 2016 and got to planning. Little did we know we would have some life hurdles to jump through. Bobby is originally from Southern California, and I am from Upstate New York. Thinking about our future, we decided it would be best if we were closer to some of our family, since we had none in Las Vegas. Bobby ended up getting a job with the Pasadena Fire Department, and so the decision was made that we would move back to his hometown. There were a lot of uncertainties at first about the dates, so we had our fingers (and toes!) crossed that it would all work out! The academy started a couple months before our wedding, so he headed to California as I spent the last few months and weeks finishing up the wedding planning, and wrapping things up at my job as well. The graduation date was set for the day of our rehearsal. Bobby’s family had already made travel plans for Vegas, so they would already be in Vegas at the time of his graduation. I also had family in town, so I was super bummed to miss his graduation, but had to hold down the fort in Vegas. Of course Bobby couldn’t miss his fire academy graduation, so he attended that, and took off right after to hop on a plane to Vegas. He made it just in time to change quickly at the hotel, and we were on our way to get our wedding weekend started! I was so happy that there were no travel delays or issues of that sort, and that I had him there, in person, ready to become my husband. We had a couple more hurdles after the wedding (we are old pros at this by now), but are finally working on settling into life in beautiful Southern California! As far as wedding day inspirations- Bobby and I are laid back, and easygoing. We wanted our wedding day to convey that, but still be beautiful and inviting. We loved the adorable, open, outdoorsy feel of the Historical Fifth Street School. It was a very pretty venue in itself, so we wouldn’t need to go overboard with decorations. I wanted a simple, natural, and romantic feel so we used dark wooden tables with runners of greenery and flowers in shades of white. ((word limit, will send rest via email))
