Get That Bridal Glow: Skincare Tips for Your Wedding

Admit it, you’ve been spending countless hours scrolling through highlighter reviews and makeup tutorials trying to figure out how to get that dewy bridal glow. While a good makeup artist can work with any skin situation, to get that airbrushed goddess look on your big day, you should start long before your wedding. We talked to Abby & Morgan of There She Glows Artistry to get the inside scoop on everything you should do leading up to the wedding and on the day of to make sure you look flawless in every photo. Here’s what they had to say…

When should you start your
skincare routine leading up to the wedding?

If you’re looking for skin revisions we recommend starting a good routine ASAP! Improving certain skin conditions can take time. Always consult a licensed esthetician before jumping into a routine you haven’t started to make sure you get the right products for you! If you’re just looking to get healthy glowing skin, we recommend starting a series of hydro facials and/or dermaplaning 3-6 months before the wedding.

What does a good skincare routine look like?

Everyone’s skin is so different, as long as you’re cleansing morning and night, moisturizing, and using SPF, you can’t go wrong! Remember to reach out to an esthetician to find the best products suitable for your skin type before buying to ensure maximum results!

Are there any products you would recommend?

We are both huge fans of Epionce! It’s a dermatologist-created botanical skincare line free of fragrance, parabens, sulfate, and gluten. Their Renewal Facial Lotion and Enriched Firming Mask are must-haves. If you suffer from breakouts, don’t forget to grab their Purifying Spot Gel (thank us later).

How should a bride arrive
for makeup on the day of the wedding?

We ask that our brides show up with clean faces and clean hair. If you want your makeup to apply like butter ask your esthetician about dermaplaning. We also recommend getting your eyebrows waxed and using a lip scrub to remove any dry skin from your lips.

Is there anything specific brides should avoid doing to their skin right before the wedding?

We love extractions as much as the next girl but sometimes they can lead to scabbing, inflammation, or hyperpigmentation. Stick to a basic facial if you’re looking to get one right before the wedding. Lash lifts are also something we highly recommend not getting if you’re wanting to have false lashes on your wedding day. The lash strip cant fully form to your natural lashes and instead creates a serious separation while also sticking straight up…not cute!

While you’re getting your self-care on, here’s everything you need to know about straightening your teeth before your big day and some more skincare products that brides swear by.
