The inspiration behind this uber lovely bridal shower was everything ultra girly; an event with the clean, trendy, sophisticated style of Kate Spade, mixed with as many tones and shades of pink as possible. From the beginning, we knew we wanted a unique theme that would really stand out and pique interest for our guests. The invitation design was simple, bold, chic and feminine with pinks, golds and black and white stripes. We included a insert with the invitation package including adorably coy wardrobe suggestions, which allowed for beautifully color-coordinated party photos.
DIY elements
Some of my favorite DIY elements included a streamer photobooth backdrop, homemade XO sugar cookies, mini-bottle rose favors, ombre chocolate dipped strawberries and a lush peony arrangement. Which one do you love the most?
champagne cocktail recipe
If you gift (or have been gifted) sparkling wine and need a cocktail recipe to use it with here’s one that’s perfect for summer; the Grapefruit Sparkler!
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
8 whole star anise
6 cups ruby-red grapefruit juice, chilled
1/3 cup Campari
2 cups sparkling wine, chilled Directions: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water with the sugar and star anise; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until sugar has dissolved. Remove pan from heat; let cool completely. Pour mixture through a fine sieve into a measuring cup (to yield 1 cup); discard star anise. Cover syrup with plastic wrap, and chill. In a large pitcher, combine grapefruit juice, Campari, and chilled syrup. Divide among eight glasses; top with sparkling wine. Serve immediately.
