Laid-back engagement ideas
From Jaylim Studio: Mariana & Todd are two jet setters who flew from California to New York for their Manhattan Glam wedding that we shot for them. A year later, we reunited to capture an inspirational engagement session in the wild deserts of Joshua Tree.
For this session, we wanted to narrow it all down to the heart of their relationship: two people effortlessly in love, treasuring the little nothings that stitch together their busy lives. We wanted to inspire couples that you don’t always have to go big and grand, sometimes all you need is the easy laughter between two people and the visceral expanse of nature.
a mix of style & adventure
The plan for the day was to take advantage of that California sun – and we did plenty of that! – with breakfast on the kitchen floor and pillow fights that end with softly traded kisses. But by the end of the day, when we wandered the wilderness in formal attire, the clouds darkened and the wind became fiercely unforgiving. Mariana & Todd were amazing though and we ended up getting some powerfully moody and dreary shots to wrap it all up. We love that mix of style and unforeseen adventure! The video is an extra special treat that will absolutely resonate with viewers. We chose a song that is soft and sweet to convey what it felt like to capture that dreamy, heartfelt connection between Mariana & Todd.
