This Sunset Engagement Shoot Will Make You Want To Take A Road Trip

Romantic couple embracing at sunset mountaintop

With a scenic overlook that we are dying to go check out ourselves and the beauty of Cathedral Rocks, these beautifully shot engagement photos are giving us that itch to hit the road and take in some of this worlds natural beauty. You can see all of this fabulous day in the full gallery thanks to the talent of Jane In the Woods

Why This Spot?

We decided to have our engagement session at Mogollon Rim because it has been such a special place for me growing up. I grew up between Los Angles, CA and Show Low, AZ where my dad lives. We had many road trips between both cities (still my favorite drive) and the Mogollon Rim was a mandatory stop. I had such a fascination with a sea of never-ending trees and being so high above 100-foot tall trees.

Love To Jane In The Woods

When I was old enough to drive myself, the stop was still mandated, and eventually, I shared my memories and new experience with Eric. He also fell in love with the beauty of the Rim and we both decided it would be a great place to document part of our lives. I had to find someone that could capture the stunning scenery and Jane knew exactly what I wanted. The natural beauty around us was key, the lichen, rocks, and cliff views. She is wonderful at including the smaller features like a tree branch or flowers that truly make the perfect shots. I am nothing but appreciative of her capturing the best views with us.

I was fully in Jane’s territory when we did the Cathedral Rock shoot. I found her on Instagram after following many AZ photographers, and her Sedona red rock pictures are just so stunning I knew she was the photographer for me. Her work truly speaks for itself but she is also such a gem and has such a warm personality. Eric and I are both on the awkward and shy side and she made us so comfortable and helped us keep our natural candid demeanors (even with hikers walking by and watching) She is so talented and I could not give better reviews about her.
