The Couple that Plays Together Stay Together Basketball Proposal

Share

Couple playing basketball at night

Lindsay and David had their first date on the basketball court, be sure read on to see how this sweet love story unfolds.

I will keep it short and sweet, as was the proposal. I will begin with background info so the story makes sense! David (my fiancé) and I began our relationship with him wanting to go on dates, and me wanting to keep our relationship on a friend basis. To ensure this happened, I only ever planned to meet him at the local basketball court. I thought ..” It’s casual, it’s fun, and it can’t be mistaken for a date! I’m sending all the right signals.” One hangout at the court turned into a few, and sooner rather than later, we shared our first kiss while playing. Since then, basketball, along with other outdoor activities, has been our go-to when we come home from work and need fresh air.

Now that you have the background story, here is how he proposed! We went about our regular after work routine and walked to the court. He began playing our song (Love is a beautiful thing – Phil Vassar) and I noticed a painting leaning against the net post that read “will you marry me”. He’s not much of a painter (A for effort love!) but I am, and it was sweet he made me something I can hold onto. After I read it, I turned around… he was on one knee.. and he asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes! (Well.. “shut up!!!” And then “yes”) and we lived happily ever after! It was a thoughtful and private proposal on a crisp fall evening. Photos by
