A Cabo Surprise: An Unforgettable Beach Proposal Story

THE RINGER

So, this one day in March I got a huge surprise. We were in Cabo for a surprise 30th birthday celebration for one of Chad’s friends. It was more than that, I just didn’t know it yet.

We had a day to ourselves while everyone was off doing activities on their own so we decided to head into town and hop on a glass bottom boat tour around the arch. A spontaneous little adventure, I thought. Chad had this already planned out in his mind. After the quick tour, we were dropped off at the beach for an hour. On one side of the beach of the Pacific, is called “Divorce Beach”. We posted up there for a few and then walked to the other side: “Lover’s Beach”. We found the perfect spot to lay out our towels. Chad made me walk to the furthest spot away from any of the other beachgoers, even though there were plenty of spots along the beach. “Sheesh, can’t we just lay here Chad?” “Nope, keep walking.” I started working on my Mexico tan right away. Chad said he needed to jump in and cool off, so he ran down to the water. Apparently he was super nervous, but I didn’t notice. When he came back he grabbed something out of the backpack and asked me to stand up. I said “What? Why? We don’t have to go yet!” He asked me to trust him, so I got up.

THE PROPOSAL

He then got down on one knee and said some (likely) beautiful things to me. The biggest shock of my life. I blacked out. I have NO IDEA what he said to me! He’s sitting there, down on one knee, holding an open ring box, waiting for me to say something. So I said “What do I do!?” to which he replied “You say YES!”… So I did! 🙂

We tried to have a nice dinner to celebrate that night but I got sick to my stomach from the massive shock and flood of emotions. We left dinner, grabbed a pizza and fell asleep watching Out Cold.
