The vision for this movie inspired engagement shoot in Northern Sicily came from the town itself, Cefalu’, a hidden gem which has been the setting for many romantic movies. With some added vintage charm and one gorgeous couple, this shoot turned out totally dreamy from Dragonfly Events.

Northern Sicily
From Dragonfly Events: Cefalu’ is a magical stunning gem in Northern Sicily, full of all those little things that make this beautiful Italian island so romantic and dreamy. This town has been the set of many movies, the Academy Award Winner “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” above all, so – as event planners, movie buffs and lovers of this town – doing the math was pretty simple: an iconic romantic movie with a strong female character, a vintage touch and Cefalu’ as backdrop for our madly in love couple.
Romantic moments
To re-create the movie atmosphere, we chose some of the most romantic and iconic moments of the original movie and put everything in the wonderful Cefalu’ scenario: the old town with the narrow streets, the UNESCO World Heritage Cathedral and the unique medieval wash-house. We set the original lake scenes in the fabulous Cefalu beach which offers one of the most stunning views in the world and, of course, the small fascinating Cefalu’ Council Theatre, where “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso” came to life was picked for the famous final dance scene.
Nunzio Turdo Photography was the obvious choice for us: his passion for the details, his love for this town and Sicily were the perfect elements to make this shoot come true.
