Romantic Desert Picnic Engagement Photos

Couple kissing holding 9-7-13 date sign

Your engagement session is the perfect opportunity for you and your fiance to let go of all the stressful wedding planning and just have some fun! Mindy and Alex did just that, opting for a relaxing picnic in a desert wash area in Scottsdale, Arizona.
With most of the props and decor coming from discount stores, Mindy and their photographer designed this amazing shoot at little cost. There are so many gorgeous photos in this vintage picnic engagement session! Make sure you don’t miss a single one by perusing the rest of the images in the full gallery here, all breathtakingly photographed by Rachel Solomon Photography.

From the Bride:I met Alex through some mutual friends in a trendy little restaurant in downtown Phoenix. When I walked through the door, he approached me and conversation came effortlessly. His handsome face and quick wit impressed me immediately. After a few dates, I learned he was hopelessly romantic and I was a goner! A year or so later, while traveling with some friends to the Napa Valley area we pulled off to visit the Muir Woods just outside of San Francisco. In the midst of some of the oldest trees on the planet, my love got down on one knee and asked if I would someday be his wife! I was so shocked I didn’t say anything but simply nodded my head, “Yes!”

We chose to take engagement pictures in an outdoor vintage setting because we both love nature and the style. Like the things in the pictures and the trees in Muir Woods, we want to grow old together! We just like to have fun and had a lot of old things and we truly do hope our love will outlast those old things around us! It’s fun to put ourselves in a makeshift environment that we hope we’ll be in together again one day except with things from this time being the “vintage” around us.

One of my favorite aspects of our engagement session was that I got to kiss my honey, like, a bazillion times cause that’s what cute, lol. But seriously, it was really fun to just be sentimental and spend time focused on each others. I also loved the way Rachel used the natural light around us and how creative she was with shots etc. Alex is also pretty creative and it was fun to hear him think of ideas too.
