A COVID-19 Wedding Like Nothing You’ve Seen Before

Newlyweds share a kiss beneath a floral wedding arch

Marcus and I have been together for a little over 8 years, and have been engaged about 10 months! We planned and anticipated for those 10 months about our wedding, while it looked so different from what I ever dreamed, God had such greater plans than my own!

Instead of getting married at our indoor venue with 400 guests for a Formal black tie wedding, we had 10 of our closest friends and family and an outdoor wedding at a family friend’s property. It was simple but yet SO perfect. We were missing so many of our people so we created a photo wall, we printed out some our guests photos and hung it up at the wedding so they could be there with us. However, regardless of the circumstances we were SO thankful we were able to celebrate our love & marriage.

It is a reminder of God’s love- it’s sacrificial, knows no distance or limitation, full of grace, and above all else always present. Please enjoy these pictures and our Corona beer cheers in tribute to COVID-19 and also our dog in his tux! We are thankful we ended up going through with our marriage and not letting the virus completely stop us, next year we will have the wedding/reception we planned with 400 guests- and we are so excited to celebrate with everyone!

I also bought 2 dresses initially and ended up wearing the dress I had planned on wearing for our reception for our big wedding so I still have my “main” dress and will end up wearing it at our next wedding! (recommendation also buy 2 dresses incase of a global pandemic 🙂
