A wedding day in Greece doesn’t mean you have to surround yourself in whitewash homes and ocean blue tiles; this next couple made their destination wedding feel like a cozy slice of home with a chic garden party aesthetic. They said “I do” on a lush green lawn with a view of the Athens Riviera, they even had all their guest toss fresh garden-grown herbs at their ceremony exit.

How To Fit In Wedding Planning
When Gemma and Danny contacted Xenia from Riviera Blu Events their wedding planner, she knew that this would be a wedding that she would enjoy planning and styling. Gemma and Danny were born and brought up in England but for the last couple of years have been living in Dubai. Gemma was working and studying at the time and had a very hectic schedule and said that she wouldn’t have too much time to plan her wedding. She sent her wedding planner a mood board of what she had in mind and a little information about the two of them so that Xenia could create and craft their wedding day per their expectations.
The Big Day
Their vision was very clear, that it was all about bringing their nearest and dearest family and friends to a perfect venue that they would be able to share exceptional food, service, and of course great music so they could dance till the wee hours of the morning as they were told that Greece is the place to party!
The final touches took place an hour before guests arrived. Leaving us with just enough time to step back and soak in the transformation of the venue into a Grecian soiree. Guests started to arrive and were taken aback by the spectacular view of the Athens Riviera and the décor blew them away. We could feel their excitement and anticipation for the night ahead and we were sure that they were all going to have an amazing time.
Every corner of the spectacular venue was used as the venue hosted four sections which were separated by hedges of aromatic herbs where the ceremony, dining, dancing, and cocktail were held. Gemma and Danny were married under a contemporary geometric arch with the sea as a backdrop and white flowers and hanging greenery intertwined throughout.
The Sweet Little Details
The confetti table was decorated with ornate gold containers housing different Greek herbs that were generously thrown on the couple after the ending of the ceremony.
Guests were then taken to the cocktail area and the arch was used as a photo booth backdrop while the couple were taken away to have their portrait photos taken by the talented Elias Kordelakos. Guests were then seated for dinner admiring the white florals and greenery in ornate Grecian urns and candles of different heights on the rectangular monastery tables.
Personalized menus with gold tassel detailing sat alongside antique glassware and gold cutlery. The table numbers were named after the ancient Greek gods which were placed in modern gold and glass frames.
After dinner and speeches were completed guests were then welcomed onto the dance floor decorated with a hanging flower chandelier and fairy lights. A talented group of traditional Greek dancers brought the Greek ‘kefi’ to life and guests danced away till the wee hours of the morning.
