Boho Chic Wedding: Music, DIY Decor & Romantic Fall Vibes

Share

Pampas grass arrangement in woven vase rooftop decor

Setting the mood for any event is a true art form and so this next couple decided to tackle this challenge for their wedding day by taking charge of their favorite elements of the day. The groom organized all of the music to be played throughout the wedding from the ceremony through cocktail hour and on into the reception, while the bride made the flowers and the overall boho vibe of the day her wedding mission.

We have to say this whole day looked like such a dream to be a part of. See some of our favorite shots below and be sure to check out our full gallery to see all of the photos from Jose Melgarejo

From The Bride About The Big Day

Matt and I wanted to have a celebration of our love with all our closest family and friends but we wanted it to represent us. We opted out of a formal ceremony. Matts Uncle was our officiant and he shared advice from his 20+ years of marriage but also incorporated a lot of humor that our guests really responded to. It was a fun ceremony. We gave our vows at sunset and the sky was a rainbow of colors with the city skyline behind us. We had candles, lanterns, Persian rugs down the aisle and an array of dried grasses and baskets.

The reception was a full-on party. We had a floating cocktail reception with comfort foods and a 10 piece band that kept everyone on their feet all night. My husband loves music and plays multiple instruments so he made sure we had guitar for our ceremony, jazz for the cocktails and the large band for dancing.

Designing The Decor

This was my baby. I told my florist to bring in burnt oranges, Rose, neutrals, dried elements. She nailed it. She dried roses from previous weddings and added them to my decor, she hung dried florals from branches draped in fabrics. I found pink Himalayan salt rocks that I used as accents on tables. I made a tattoo bar. I made the dried pressed floral frames for all the tables at home. I even got a gold floral tray for cards at target! I wanted to have romantic bohemian fall vibes and I think it came together really nicely.
