Joseph and Carin traveled all the way from Portland to Sayulita, Mexico to celebrate their love, and it’s a wedding adventure to remember! With only their closest family in attendance, they rented a private seaside villa to host their celebrations and boy did it turn out pretty!

private seaside villa
From Jess Leigh Photographer: Joseph and Carin came from Portland to Sayulita to have a small, casual wedding with their closest family members. They rented a sea side villa in Sayulita, Mexico and planned a small, midday ceremony to celebrate their love. The bride went barefoot on the grass, the guests did a beer toast during the ceremony and the officiant had everyone in laughter and in tears from start to finish.
modern + boho touches
Joe and Carin chose the lawn of the beautiful Villa del Oso for their tropical inspired reception. The tables were decorated with eucalyptus and protea with raw linen runners that added a rustic touch. The ceremony took place on a hill perched above the lawn with sweeping ocean views. The circular altarpiece was an ode to the couple’s modern take on the day with touches of palm leaves and flowers to add romance.
celebrating their love
As guests arrived they were offered Coronitas (mini Corona’s) to drink and have for a toast to the couple during the ceremony. Joe and Carin entered and walked down the aisle together hand in hand. The officiant started the ceremony by polling the crowd to help him “fill in the blanks” for parts of his speech which by the end came back as a hilarious mix match of random adjectives to describe the couple and their love. The couple read their own, heartfelt, tear-jerking vows and left down the aisle hand in hand again, celebrating their love! It was a beautiful, sweet, small and intimate day focused on Joe and Carin. Just as it should be!
