An Intimate Elopement Celebration Around Paris

Share

Bride and groom wedding portrait Paris Eiffel Tower

The gardens of medieval castle were the picturesque backdrop for Sophie & Patrick’s totally romantic elopement in the city of love, Paris. With just the two of them, they spent the day exploring the city and celebrating the start of their new life together.

It doesn’t get more romantic than that, folks! Paris Photographer Pierre captured all the love between these two birds, so be sure to see it all below. Oh, and if you’re loving the brides amazing BHLDN gown, check out the full gallery for a closer look.

From The bride

We really wanted the day to be just the two of us sharing a special, private moment while making a commitment to each other. We planned to celebrate with family down the road (to make it US official), but for that moment in Paris, we wanted it to just about us.

choosing what’s important

Since we didn’t have a wedding, it was all about the pictures and the dress. For my dress, the thing I cared about most was finding one that was timeless and elegant – like Paris. And for pictures, we wanted to capture the romance of Paris but in a way that was true to our relationship. I wouldn’t call us romantics in a storybook sense, but rather we love to laugh and tend to be a bit quirky, so it was important that the day was about having fun with each other and that our playful demeanor came through in pictures.

Soaking it all in

Besides exchanging vows, my favorite part of that day came after the pictures and ceremony were over. We did the ceremony first thing in the morning so we still had all day to celebrate. I changed into a short white dress so that I still felt bridal, and we wandered the streets of Paris; popping in and out of cafes, drinking wine, and checking out artwork. With the nerves behind us, we were able to truly enjoy the day with no plans, no agenda, just soaking it all in.
