Color-WOW Wedding Filled with Tradition and Love

Share

Beautiful Indian bride in traditional red wedding sari

Color-WOW! Neha and Arvind’s color-filled day blends cultural elements of a traditional, South Asian wedding in a fun, modern and western way to represent all aspects of their lives. It’s a beautiful mix of tradition meets modern style at the The Morton Arboretum in Illinois.

Hues of hot pink, orange and turquoise were paired with softer shades of blush and gold to create a vibrant atmosphere for all their friends and family. From the hanging carnation backdrop, to both of the brides stunning gowns, we’re so excited to share this special day with you! Nicodem Creative captured it all beautifully, so keep scrolling for more and don’t miss the full gallery after.

From Michelle Kurinec at LOLA Event Productions: Neha and Arvind are one word – Amazing. From their personalities all the way down to their design style, they know what they want, and it’s usually right on the mark. Neha came to me with the vision of combining cultural elements of traditional, South Asian wedding in a fun, modern and western way to represent her life here, in America. Instead of a traditional South Asian color pallet of reds and golds, we played up colors of hot pink, blush, orange and turquoise.

Grooms arrival via bike rickshaw

When it came time for the ceremony, Arvind knew his time to shine was the baraat. I have never seen a groom own and shake it like I saw Arvind. He had the time of his life with his family and best buds, dancing his way to a gorgeous mandap. The mandap was made of blush, ivory and gold flowing fabrics adorned with a garland of greens and bright blooms, finished with a backdrop of floating carnations. The only thing that could add to it’s beauty were the stunning outfits of both our bride and groom and the lush, bright garlands that adorned their necks.

Clementine escort cards

Finally, guests made their way over to the Visitor’s Center at the arboretum for cocktails, dinner and dancing. They were greeted by the cutest escort cards – vivid green leaves attached to bright and fragrant clementines. They provided a fun pop of color and a nice smell to boot! They made their way into the Gingko Room, which has stunning views over Meadow Lake and the arboretum grounds , and were impressed by vaulted pieces of Bell’s of Ireland, lower collections of candlelight, lanterns and floral, and a gorgeous ombre cake to complete a dance floor that would later be filled by the entire guest list! All in all, it was a wedding that no one could forget, and was held for a true King and Queen.

Non-stop party

From the bride: After the ceremony, I changed into my Shyamal & Bhumika gown and Arvind changed into a custom three-piece suit from Trunk Club. It felt good to freshen up and have a moment together to let all the events of the day sink in. We also took a moment to take a wedding selfie 🙂 Our reception was a party. It was a nonstop dance marathon and we had a blast. EVERYONE got on the dance floor.
