Unique Wedding Favors
As a way to keep the clean up to a minimum we decided to let our guests take home their vintage plates and goblets. We spent months writing love quotes and our date on the plates and tied thank you cards to the goblets. For dinner we had our guests use plastic plates and then use the vintage plates as a charger so they wouldn’t get dirty. It worked out perfectly! We also decided to make CDs of our favorite songs and songs that were played at the wedding to give to our guests and they loved it!

Budget. Ugh. (am I right?!) but it’s got to be done! And let me tell you, it is super important to know how much you want to spend from the VERY beginning or else it can all get out of control. We had a pretty tight budget. We set an amount of roughly $10,000 and with the help of both of our parents we made it work! Our wedding was basically all DIY. From the vintage china plates on the tables that we found at thrift stores and flea markets to the CDs of our favorite songs that we gave away as favors, we got to work early knowing that we wanted to save as much money doing it ourselves. We also have the best families in the world who were there for us on multiple weekends to go thrifting or to have a full day of crafting. We could not have pulled this off without them. So brides, take advantage of that fact that you have so many people wanting to help and support you on your big day. It’s really okay to ask for favors! Your family wants to feel involved 🙂 I also have to say that not every bride is blessed with a florist for a mother. I won the jackpot there! She was my superhero from day 1 and I could not have done it without her! Plus, do you see how freaking gorgeous our flowers were? She rocks! It is possible to have a beautiful wedding on a budget. It might take a lot more late nights and crafting days, but in the end it’s all worth it and you’ll look back on those times with big smiles and happy thoughts.
