Modern yet Traditional Wedding
From Ashley Therese Photography: The Persian Bohemian look and feel of this stylized wedding really allowed us to describe who the couple was through bright colors and elements from nature.
It was so fun to work with the bride and groom, Lizzette and Ra, who are both artists and often paint together, because their style truly was like a modern painting. We wanted to reflect their love and appreciation for the outdoors throughout the detailing, while still maintaining a chic feel.
Bright, Beautiful Colors
Throughout the details we incorporated splashes of jewel tone color and gold inspired by the couple’s cultures (the groom is Persian and the bride is Columbian), while maintaining a sense of modern luxury and elegance.
Traditional Sofreh Aghad Ceremonys
It was also important to bring to life some of the unique aspects and traditions from the couple’s Persian and Columbian cultures for this wedding. The couple opted for a Persian wedding ceremony which included a Sofreh Aghad – a beautiful spread containing a variety of symbolic items.
During the ceremony a silk/lace fabric was held by female relatives over the couple’s head, while a loved one ground sugar cones over the couple’s head to symbolize their wish for a sweet life for the bride and groom.
