Our absolutely stunning bride Carly, married her now Husband, Cheyne in March this year. It is such a beautiful, relaxed and intimate wedding. Held at Church364, a boutique wedding venue in Victoria, Australia – full of old world charm but with modern & contemporary aesthetics. From the bride… I was attracted to the beautiful stylish sequined gown in the front window of Karen Willis Holmes, which just screamed modern glamour. I had a feeling I may find my wedding dress in that store. Honestly, I didn’t really know wedding designers before I started looking on High Street, Armadale. That became a crash course! I only tried on the one gown, the Prea Gown and it was love at first sight. I loved the long sweeping train at the back – it made a statement!
My accessories were a pair of statement Samantha Wills earrings that had a touch of turquoise, my something blue. Something old was my late Nanna’s tennis bracelet and something borrowed was a girlfriend’s diamante hairpiece.

Church364 was the last venue to look at on our list. Every other location did not have the intimacy factor, which is what we wanted in a venue. We knew from the minute we saw it – this was the venue! The theme was relaxed, modern and classic. I tried to keep these three elements in mind when looking at all elements of the wedding. The color scheme was white, black and grey with the slightest pop of turquoise here and there. The hardest part was keeping styling to a minimum. Generally I drew inspiration/ideas from wedding blogs and Pinterest but in the end I had to scale back and trust my instinct that less was more. Too many styling ideas became fussy. I stuck to minimal but modern striking elements. I did not want to detract from the beauty of the venue itself. The dining room used to be an old outside courtyard with a brick floor.
