Homespun Charm: A Country Wedding in Gettysburg, PA

Share

Beautiful bride in wedding dress outdoors

Erin and Jeremy brought homespun charm to the Battlefield Bed and Breakfast in historic Gettysburg, PA with their gentle country wedding. Their early summer nuptials kept it simple with a soft color pallet of yellows and pinks mingled with burlap and lace. In true folksy fashion they thanked their wedding guests with jam favors that they jarred themselves.

Kelly’s Photos captured Erin and Jeremy’s special day spectacularly! To see even more of this gentle country wedding please visit the full gallery here.

From the Bride:The only thing I can think of that I would’ve done differently (because the day was absolutely perfect) is having someone do the bridal party hair and makeup. Time slipped away from us pretty early on and my bridesmaids felt very rushed and incomplete. We all thought “How hard can it be? We do this everyday” boy, were we wrong!

My favorite details of the day were the flowers and the cake. I remember walking into the barn and seeing everything for the first time, it took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes.

My favorite part of planning was getting to add personal touches through DIY projects. The table numbers were hand stitched using buttons passed down from my mother, and the jam favors were homemade in my own kitchen.

The inspiration for our wedding day was country chic with vintage elements. We really wanted a simple and understated yet beautiful atmosphere. We had BBQ, a popcorn bar, and lots of sweet tea and lemonade. We wanted our guests to feel laid back like at a backyard picnic.
