Pittsburgh, PA Engagement | Twigs and Marshmallows DIY Centerpieces

Share

Kristen and Jason spent a romantic afternoon ice skating for this adorable engagement session.

To make their time even more memorable I came up with a cute little DIY centerpiece idea that is simple and inexpensive to create. And the possibilities are endless.

The centerpieces were constructed by pushing large marshmallows onto the ends of various twigs. No glue necessary, after a day or so the marshmallows harden to the twigs. I then decorated the marshmallows with lace, ribbon, buttons and small skeleton keys. I used straight pins to adhere the embellishments. Completely mess free! The strings of pearls and flowers were fastened onto the twigs using white garbage ties. The twigs were secured into the vases by simply stuffing crumpled newspaper around the base.
It’s tons of fun giving each marshmallow it’s own personality.

To go along with the marshmallow theme, Kristen and Jason were served mini cupcakes with roasted marshmallows in lieu of icing.

And I accessorized the scene with mason jars filled with regular and coconut marshmallows holding coffee filter flowers growing on clothespin stems.
