Los Angeles Ocean Front Wedding Reception

Share

Caroline Tran photography

Shinko and Randal had their wedding in Hawaii, but wanted to have a reception in California with all their family and friends! The couple met through work, but knew they were the perfect match when learning they each loved to ballroom dance – the Salsa, Tango, Waltz were passions for both! In fact they performed a Salsa number for guests to enjoy at their wedding reception. How fun is that?
We know you are going to swoon over all the elegant details, not to mention all the delicious food at this beautiful ocean front wedding reception. All coordinated and designed by The Special Day, and beautifully captured by Caroline Tran. Be sure to see so many more steal worthy ideas in the full gallery here.

From Carolyn Chen of The Special Day:They chose the  Terrenea Resort because of the beautiful ocean views. Shinko was inspired by a previous wedding I had planned with a dusty aqua/white and lavender palette so that’s what we went with! It was a daytime reception, so we had Dolce Designs Studio build cabanas so guests could enjoy cocktails outside in the shade. It was a very relaxed and beautiful setting with the 180 degree ocean views!

Before they moved inside they had cocktails and a beautiful crustacean seafood bar overflowing with chilled jumbo shrimp, snow crab claws, little Neck Clams and Oysters and a variety of sauces.

We moved indoors for the lunch. Food is another passion Shinko and Randal share, so our menu was a foodie’s dream! We chose an amazing menu of all different customized items. Guests dined on items like lobster and sweet corn bisque, miso glazed black cod with sweet pea puree, grilled Kobe steak with butternut squash ravioli. For dessert we served caramel cheesecake crème brulee, lemon chiffon torte, chocolate mousse fudge torte and mango croissant bread pudding with candied walnut and Chantilly cream!

We ended the night with dancing of course! Shinko and Randal performed a Latin dance number for their guests, but also treated their guests to salsa dance lessons so everyone was able to join in on the fun! They also brought in professional dancers for entertainment.
