Just because you want your wedding to be low-key (and many couples do these days), doesn’t mean it needs to be casual. The length of the dress and the time of day don’t dictate the formality of your wedding you do! So, if you’re planning a daytime micro wedding but you still want it to feel like a wedding, this London inspiration shoot is just what you’ve been looking for. The bride’s look is elegant but effortlessly chic. Her adorable mini-dress and ponytail (complete with bow) are giving us serious Ariana Grande wedding vibes, and she’s rocking it. The groom is still sporting a tux but he carries it like it’s NBD.
Illy Elizabeth Weddings wanted to show couples that you can throw an effortlessly chic wedding that is elegant without being fussy. The Berkeley Hotel was the perfect venue for this inspiration because it couples modern architectural elements with an upscale and sophisticated color palette and feel. Keeping with the monochromatic theme, The Event Stylist created understated white and green floral arrangments that add a touch of whimsy to the entire design. These photos by Jessica Lily Photography capture the playful nature of this shoot and show the couple as they walk about town before they officially tie the knot. GETTING THAT upscale URBAN LOOK
We wanted to cross the luxury high-end side of weddings with a modern urban twist. Creating a chic vogue-inspired style with the incredible new wedding designer, Kate Edmondson Bridal Couture, the most talked-about newcomer in the wedding industry. The Berkeley in Knightsbridge, London is well known for its prestigious clientele. You will usually find a supercar or two, in front of the classic twinkle lights they normally hang outside the front during the winter months. Based in the heart of Knightsbridge, we were adamant we wanted to do a styled editorial at this venue to showcase a modern and luxurious styled wedding, whilst keeping things very high-end. At Illy Elizabeth Weddings, it was our biggest challenge yet, to feature this prestigious venue in a modern, urban way.
KEEPING IT SIMPLE
We decided on a monochromatic color palette, crossing elegance with neutral tones to complement The Berkeley venue itself. Whites and neutral tones are becoming extremely popular at the moment. We worked with our florists to bring in some modern and unique florals to the tablescapes, featuring white Anthurium, which we fell in love with.
BESPOKE TOUCHES
We opted for a grand five-tier cake that was set in front of a frosted acrylic piece, made with vows that were written by our celebrant. A handmade bespoke piece by Rachel Sokhal Bridal Accessories was made to match our bridal shoes by Emmy London. The city-chic makeup and hair look was created by Katie Malin Makeup Artist, and she worked effortlessly to create a modern, high coverage, yet extremely chic look for our bride.
