Inspired by the beauty and new growth that rain brings, this team from Toronto created a soft and bright wedding inspiration that is bursting with life and color. The events of the past year have made it difficult to celebrate (both physically and emotionally). Slowly, but surely, the world is healing and the clouds are beginning to part. The vibrant greenery and gentle blossoms in this shoot are a lovely respite to the heaviness we’ve all been feeling.

Behind The ‘I Do’ Wedding Planning brought this talented group of vendors together and planned every detail of this wedding inspiration. Dawndust Florals designed these innovative floral arrangements including a floral umbrella (which is definitely a first for us)! WHEN THE CLOUDS PART
“Après la Pluie” is French for “After the Rain”. What we need after a difficult year is some optimism and hope. With this wedding styled shoot, we wanted to focus on the beauty that can bloom after the storm. The Harding Waterfront Estate was the perfect venue that offered the intimate, yet elegant backdrop, reminiscent of the old-world charm in Toronto.
A SPRINKLE OF WONDER
The florals are the perfect balance of whimsy and romance that just makes your heart smile. The florals brought pops of color against our dusty blue tablescape. The plates were kept minimal but we paired them with iridescent glassware for just a sprinkle of wonder. We used gold flatware to add a subtle touch of luxury in an intimate setting.
The single-tier, beautifully crafted cake was hand-painted with a soft peach and dusty blue buttercream to match the florals. The handmade paper with deckled edges is a staple in any fine-art wedding because it adds such wonderful textures, a subtle detail that exudes a gentle romance. For this shoot, the carefully crafted paper is paired with a more modern, color-blocked design along with a mix of hand-lettering and letter-pressed details. Hand-lettered scrolls and a linen cloth were incorporated for some added romance.
A DELICATE TOUCH
We featured two bridal looks, one with delicate, feminine lace details and the second with a simple yet timeless elegance. Both looks featured soft, relaxed hairstyles and natural makeup that exuded an effortless beauty.
Each detail in this shoot was carefully curated for our concept, but the floral umbrella completely stole our hearts as it embodies everything we wanted to convey/express with this shoot. The florals organically sprouting from the umbrella beautifully illustrate the hope and beauty that we hope to see when this storm passes. We want to inspire couples to stay optimistic throughout these times and cherish the love they share.
