Wedding Seating With One Long Reception Table Will Be Trending Post-COVID

Share

It’s been a while since I’ve done an audit of our Instagram feed, but yesterday I did a 6-8 month scroll to see what our followers and readers have been double-tapping like crazy, and one thing stood out almost immediately: long table seating setups. Kind of interesting, too, because yes, the logistics work well for small, super intimate weddings, but it’s also a little scary to consider guests so closely situated during a pandemic… Maybe we’re all just subconsciously (and even not subconsciously at this point) looking forward to the future, when social distancing isn’t a top-of-mind reference and we can share in the most celebratory of occasions without worry.

In any case, we really were so blown away by the love our WC crew has for dining arrangements that put everyone – guests and the guests of honor – at one main table. It’s streamlined and cozy, it facilitates conversation, and it’s a great way to keep the whole party in sync: eating together, toasting together, bonding together. We get it guys, we feel the same way, it’s a very good look.

But before we share the best-of snaps from our Gram grid, we’re calling out a few of the highlights you had all the heart eyes for and that inspired the vendors behind the scenes, too.

Alfresco ambiance.

I mean, no one would argue that an outdoor fete isn’t totally favored right now. But we think that even once indoor wedding receptions can happen again, safely and without guest size contingencies, couples are still going to be charmed by and drawn to an open air atmosphere. (Check out the setups under trees or on the waterfront)

Dream lighting that puts love in the air.

Like, quite literally, in the air. Hanging lanterns, wooden canopies suspended with Edison bulbs, simple floating fairy lights bring even more #mood to the already close-knit, festive feel of family-style seating. You’ve seen it before, too: proof that epic lighting can be everything for amazing nighttime wedding shots

Chairs and chatter-worthy florals.

We’ll be really quick here: Acrylic chairs. Pampas grass. IYKYK
