Deb and Pete’s wedding was about forming a new family as much as it was about two people getting married. With the marriage of Deb and Pete, they became a tightly knit blended family of six – Deb, Pete and four beautiful children. It was evident they had been through a lot together as a family already. They had grown to know, love and care for each other in a very deep way. I especially loved seeing the girls of the family prepare for the wedding. It reminded me of the part in Cinderella when the little birds are fluttering around Cinderella helping her get all made-up and looking beautiful to meet the prince. Deb’s three girls excitedly surrounding Deb, ready to give her hugs, kisses, ease her nerves, laughter, jokes, apply her makeup, get in her dress or whatever else their mother needed to transform into that beautiful bride – it was just beautiful.
It was a really beautiful moment when Deb’s daughter applied the make-up on her mother. At one point, Deb started to tear up and stopped to tell each of her daughter’s one simple but earnest thing, “I just love you so much.”
Deb’s reaction to herself in her wedding dress in the image below is so genuine to me. It is as if it all became real in that instant. And I love the look on her daughter’s face in the background – just stunned and proud of how beautiful her mother is on this day.
Deb and Pete had a huge backyard and was able to create a wonderful area for the guests with the coordination of Christina at Platinum on a Penny. I love these tree favors. It’s natural, useful and personalized – I love it.
The children had written some incredibly thoughtful and touching speeches for Deb and Pete. There wasn’t a dry eye in that room when they gave the speeches.
