This next beautiful wedding inspirational shoot pulled together by photographer Courtney Chau and a talented crew of California vendors, is all about celebrating a deep and moody bohemian romance. But what we love the most about this beautiful event are the hard working design elements that set a tone but keep the day feeling easy going.

From Courtney Chau

The concept for this shoot blossomed from reaching out to my childhood friend about potentially collaborating on a styled shoot. We had both recently started our businesses and we have very similar taste when it comes to style. We traded ideas and put together a vision board. Then I rounded up a team of new business women in our area and watched as our vision came to life. We LOVE the moody/romantic feel that deep, rich colors can bring to a wedding, and this was something that we wanted to highlight in this shoot.

I also knew I wanted to feature a horse, so one of the very first things I checked off the list was, find a horse! The romantic tones, the horse, and the beautiful wedding gown all fit together perfectly! As a photographer born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula, specifically Carmel Valley, I’ve been inspired by the beauty that surrounds this area. I wanted to capture the beauty of 10 miles inland of the coast. The trees, the river, the rural setting, the true beauty of nature in this place I am lucky to call home.

The fun part about this shoot was teaming up with new businesses and the encouragement that we felt from everyone. It was a nice day of reassurance that anything and everything could be possible when we encourage each other as far as pursuing our dreams to be business owners in the area that we grew up.
