If you could do it all over again what would your wedding look like? This was the basis for this inspirational shoot at North Carolina’s Lonesome Valley when photography Julia Wade fell in love with this gorgeous venue. And it’s not too hard to see why. Calm mountain rivers and sun dappled woods have us wishing we could be there right now.

Wedding Fantasy at A fairy tale venue
From Julia Wade Photography: I photographed a wedding at Lonesome Valley back in October 2014 in a hurricane .. (!!) and despite a very rainy event, I fell in love with the quiet box canyon tucked away in Cashiers, NC, along with the talented team I worked with that day. I reached out to Sandy with Fiddlehead designs and asked if she’d be interested in putting together a shoot in some sunshine next year together. She kindly agreed.
I wanted to tell a simple, beautiful story.. to craft my own bride, and I certainly found it in Alexa and her sweet fiance James. We spent a few hours together with Alexa in a beautiful Claire Pettibone gown chasing the sun, barefoot in the grass. It’s how I would imagine I would want my wedding day to go if I were to do it all over again. I wanted these images to feel attainable by any bride, and highlight the beauty of this venue and the hidden gem that Western North Carolina is.
