Take a good long look at those flowers, aren’t they gorgeous?! Would you believe us if we told you they are paper? Well… what we should really say is would you believe this whole tablescape designed by Elegant Aura is either paper or plastic?

Trust us, we wouldn’t lie to you. From the stunningly realistic paper flowers by Jessica Smith of Folium to the cute china printed paper plates and chargers from ItsPartyParty there is so much to love and be blown away by. Don’t Let Allergies Ruin Your Big Day

From Elegant Aura: When one of our brides told us she was allergic to flowers and basically anything green, we started searching for alternatives for her bouquet. We came across incredibly talented people who create paper-flower bouquets and were blown away by how real they looked. That was the moment I thought, how cool would it be to create an all paper inspiration shoot? I love the idea of using unconventional elements and creating a romantic and elegant table setting. I then started looking for the perfect décor, paper elements and collaborators to help make this vision come together.

Adding to the paper items, we found an amazing partnership with Libby Morris, owner of Giardini di Sole, and included her synthetic crystal collection of glassware, bowls and serving pieces. This was the perfect combination of texture, style and elegance using more unbreakable materials.

Paper or Plastic… or Both?

The table was covered with flax colored linen and layered with a crisp white runner, paper laser-cut placemats, a gold and white paper charger and colorfully printed paper plates. Rose gold plastic cutlery looks as regal as the vintage, sterling silver “Grand Baroque” Pattern by Wallace. The lace and rose patterned paper napkins compliments this vintage feel and modern elements. Delicate white ribbon with turquoise trim helped tie the place cards securely to the napkins and was also used to trim the cake stand.

The cake was a classic two-tier round with white frosting, white cake and raspberry filling. For a whimsical touch, it was decorated with edible paper butterflies. Warehouse XI where the photo shoot took place was the perfect backdrop for this colorful scheme.

Are you as blown away by these realistic paper flowers as we are? You can read more about Folium‘s  Jessica Smith and her paper flower process below!

Flowers by paper artist, Jessica Smith, were custom hand-made and crafted to coordinate with all of the colors in the table décor. She used a mix of tea and garden roses, daisies, zinnias, cherry blossoms and snap peas to create the centerpiece. All of the flowers are individually cut by hand, and dyed or bleached by Jessica to manipulate the colors.
