Ranch Wedding with Wildflowers, Pies, and Line Dancing

Share

Bride and groom share a kiss outdoors

We love a ranch style wedding complete with wild flower wedding arrangements, good company and of course tasty fresh pies. We are seeing more and more fresh pies in lieu of the traditional wedding cake. No matter which direction, the results will both be yummy. A special hug and kiss to Cameron Ingalls who shared with us this San Luis Obispo, California ranch wedding. Taking place at a somewhat new reception venue in the central coast, Holland Ranch. Read on to find to learn more about the bride’s vision for her special day.

From The Bride:
We wanted our wedding to have a western feel with a little bit of a hippie vibe thrown in. We envisioned a casual atmosphere where we are dancing, drinking, eating, and making merry with all of our closest friends and family. Both Matt and I wore cowboy boots and the night included lots and lots of line dancing. My mother passed away in June 2006, and, to honor her memory, I wore my mother’s wedding dress when I walked down the aisle (surprisingly, the dress fits like a glove and did not require alterations even after all these years!) I changed dresses between the ceremony and reception to avoid spilling tri-tip and/or cherry pie on something with so much sentimental value. Instead of cake at the ceremony, pie was served: cherry (the bride’s favorite) and apple (the groom’s). The pie topper was just two little toys that represented us in a funny way.
