Dance Inspired Wedding Shoot: Beauty, Movement & Raw Moments

Share

Bride in mermaid dress with floral bouquet indoors

This ballet inspired shoot aimed to capture the essence of dance in the wings and preparation for the stage. Rosin, a golden yellow rock-power mix, is used backstage by dancers to
help control their pointe shoes and therefore their movements on stage. Watercolor tends to have the ability to reflect a lot of the movement
seen in dance, so watercolor elements were used on a simple white cake and
white backdrop and mixed with other elements such as rosin and
wooden floors.

These talented vendors hoped to convey the beauty of the movement of dance but also the raw
moments and strength that often aren’t seen behind the scenes. See all of the beautiful details from this dance and movement inspired wedding shoot in the full gallery, photographed by Love Be Photography.

Beauty From Hard Work

I have been a dancer since the age of 2, and there is something about
the movement and grace of dance that is so airy and romantic. If there
is one thing I learned from 20 years of ballet, it is that beauty often
develops from hard work.

Mimicking Movement For A Beautiful Shoot

It was so great to have an incredible team of vendors to help bring this
vision to life. The flowers mimicked the movement of dancers while the
china reflected the delicacy often seen in dancers. Styling by I Do I Do
Wedding Planning
helped bring each of these elements together.
