Dog-Friendly Wedding Ideas: Stylish & Safe Pup Inclusion

Share

Bride and groom share a tender moment at their wedding

There seems to be a growing trend having your four legged friends in your wedding day. With dog being man’s best friend, we definitely see why! However, over time we’ve seen this trend incorporated in ways that aren’t always fair to our pretty pooches.
So, a team of local vendors in Grand Rapids, Michigan came together with love in their hearts, and creativity in their heads to put together a flawless styled shoot, all aimed to give couple’s ideas on how they can safely incorporate their dog in their wedding. See the pretty results of this dog friendly puppy love wedding in the full gallery here, photographed by Everphoto.

Make Sure Your Dog Is Trained

What’s better than having your beloved pooch be the first thing guests see when they get an invite to the party of the year? Work with a local graphic designer to come up with the perfect stationery, and incorporate your dog every step of the way. Have your dog be part of your bridal party, but we recommend you also hire a dog trainer! Professional dog handles are a great option for couple who want their pooch to be a perfect guest at their wedding, and making sure they get the love and discipline they need.

Donate To A Shelter

Forgo a wedding favor, and offer a donation to a shelter instead! Guests feel like they help saved a dog or cat’s life, and it saves on planning something in budget that most guests won’t use again anyways. Put your dog’s tags on your bouquet, so they can be with you when you walk down the aisle. There is nothing better than having a favorite keepsake attached to your bridal bouquet, and having your dog close on that big walk can make it extra special.

DIY Silhouette Pooch Plates

We made these great silhouette pooch plates to compliment our chargers, and we all love them so much! It can be a great edition to a sweetheart table or head table, and it’s incredibly easy to do! We simply ordered silhouette decals from silhouetteMYpet, measured the plates to find our center, and applied the decals according to the instructions that came from silhouetteMYpet. What’s better than a breed for every table? Create and imaginative seating chart with the help of your favorite dog breeds, mix it up, and let your guests have a good time finding their seat.

Doggy Bags!

We’ve seen candy buffets, popcorn tables, trail mix tables, you name it… but why not put together a collection of your dog’s favorite treats for your guest’s four legged friends? We put together a table with some color-scheme complementary toys, gourmet treats from The Cakabakery and Dogwood Barkery, and dog-friendly (non-alcoholic) beer and doggy cigars from Bowser Beer, it makes a stunning buffet table, and is a treat for all our guest’s pets at home.
