Under The African Sun Wedding Inspiration

Share

fashion by Gavin Rajah @weddingchicks

This beautiful wedding shoot will leave you “ooo-ing” and “aww-ing” till the last photo! Inspired by the diverse landscape of South Africa, photographers Jenni Elizabeth and Celesté Prince of Aglow Photography wanted to play with the idea of an intimate African elopement. Using a rich color palette of blush pinks, deep purples and reds they were able to pull of a wild and dreamy shoot that we can’t get enough of!
You don’t need to fly to South Africa (though, we wouldn’t stop you) to see the rest of this Under the African Sun wedding inspiration. View the full gallery here. Captured by Jenni Elizabeth and Celesté Prince of Aglow Photography. Coordinated by Gera de Wet.

African Inspired

We started off using subtle colors in the shoot and intensifying the colors into darker and more dramatic colors as the journey is progressing to the couple’s final celebration. The colors of the African sunrise, noontime and sunset inspired this idea. The shoot was divided within three main themes that we tried to project; The Journey, The Destination and The Future.

Real life love story

We wanted an outdoor shoot to showcase the diverse landscapes we have here in South Africa thus the idea of an Intimate African Elopement came about. This intimate love story is about a real life couple on a journey toward their elopement under the African sun.

Gorgeous Couture Gowns

No wedding gowns were used in the shoot, because we wanted to shift the mindset of what most of society thinks a wedding should be and or look like. The exquisite couture gowns by South African Designer, Gavin Rajah, worked beautifully against the juxtaposed underdeveloped landscape.
