Those who have read Little Women know it is much more than a romance. It is a story about the bond of four beloved sisters who, through the years, find themselves painfully nostalgic for the simple days of their childhood. The inspiration for this shoot came from the depth of their relationships, and the dream of creating a wedding scene that could have taken place after the last pages of the book, with all the girls reunited.

From the Vendors:When I think about the story of Little Women, a flood of childhood memories fill me. As a little girl, I wanted to be just like Jo… an intelligent, imaginative, and strong spirited girl who wouldn’t settle for an ordinary life. She chased her dream of becoming an author in a time when women were confined, and in the midst of her pursuit, found herself in a romance truer than anything she had ever read or written about. Her life broke the mold, and from it, a wonderfully unique love story was born.
Furniture and adornments provided by Folklore Vintage Rentals perfectly matched our vision and brought authenticity to our modern day perspective on a period piece. The Victorian china set reminded me of something the March family might have treasured and saved for special occasions, and the stacks of colorful books placed throughout were as old as the story itself.
The team that brought this story to life was an absolute dream. I fell head over heels for the rich colors and pops of crimson in the florals, which adorned the mantle that the sisters gathered around to read letters together. The setting was carefully selected to compliment the moody hues and allude to the adventurously dense forest that the March sisters spent their youth exploring.
And yes, a majestic white horse named Knight just so happened to wander his way into our midst, and what an addition he was! All in all, I was left enchanted by this present day rendition of a classic tale that so many of us adore, and hope it will inspire future Wedding Chicks brides to take chances with color and theme for their celebrations!
