The historic house contains artifacts from across the globe, collected by the Lords and Ladies who have called Somerley home for hundreds, that’s right, hundreds of years! For weddings and events alike, this venue is definitely worth a closer look.
It was the perfect location for this fall wedding inspiration, put together by What Peggy Did Next and an array of talented vendors from the area. They complemented the space with fall tones + florals, and several bespoke bridal looks that will impress. From What Peggy Did Next: Today’s editorial feature took place at one of England’s most exclusive, historic private homes – Somerley, on the edge of the New Forest National Park. Home to rolling hills of heather, wild ponies and the inspiration behind this team’s fall-inspired photoshoot.
Bespoke bridal accessories
This region of the UK is home to not only some of the country’s most exciting wedding suppliers but also incredible designers, and so, it was important to the team to feature the handmade work of as many of them as possible. Within these images, you will find bespoke bridal accessories – namely bridal chokers, a hot new trend – from Ashley Wild Bridal and an epic headdress thanks to renowned ethical florist The Wild Fox.
Global inspiration
The house contains many artifacts from across the globe, collected by the Lords and Ladies who have called Somerley home for hundreds of years. So, inspiration also came from corners of Imperial Britain and the Ottoman Empire. Rich golden tones mix with bohemian, travel-inspired details and fitting textile backdrops came courtesy of two British textile designers, Claire Gaudion and Charlotte Gaisford.
