Eco Friendly LA Wedding Venue | The Carondelet House

Finding their venue was the first step in shaping Sonia and Robert’s wedding. After googling,”eco weddings,” The Carondelet House popped onto their radar and had every aspect of what they were looking for.
A rustic building with vintage furniture and decor, brick walls, and tons of character! After booking the venue, everything else seemed to line up for Sonia and Robert’s vintage artsy inspired wedding. As always you can see the entire gallery by clicking here. All beautifully photographed by Katie Pritchard.

Sonia’s favorite wedding moment-I loved our first look!! Seeing my Robert get so emotional on seeing me for the first time, it was the sweetest and most special moment ever. I am so glad we decided to do it. It also helps with getting the nerves out before walking down the aisle!

The Carondelet House house in Los Angeles was constructed in 1928, this gorgeous property was built as an Italian Villa with an urban flair. With warm hardwood floors and vintage furniture.
The location features a divided receiving room that can accommodate about 20 people each. You are able to fit two bar stations in each of these rooms.  The main stairs lead up to an open foyer with a trickling water feature.  The main room can accommodate about 50 people and can be set up to feature a stage in the back.  Various spaces flank the main room, where guests can mingle. Steal worthy idea:
Sonia and Robert took two jars of paint to pour on a canvas to make a unique painting that they could hang in their new home together to commemorate their wedding. Fits perfectly into their artsy, urban wedding.

Their do-it yourself wedding projectsDIY projects: Invitations; Centerpieces were mason jars with various colored roses (all in muted pinkish hues); painted various bottles with spray paint to adorn the tables; my mom sewed burlap runners for the tables; favors were little succulents wrapped in burlap (we wanted a favor guests would keep and not throw away); our unity ceremony involved dripping paint on a canvas – we wanted something we could keep forever; board games on the tables during cocktail hour (we love board games and thought they would not only look cool on the tables, but give people something to do during that hour).

Favorite element of the wedding:The food! It was not boring wedding food, but the most delicious meal you ever had – Caribbean jerk chicken, island rice, fried plantains, spinach salad…mmmmm!
