I Do Venues: Anderson Ranch Breath of Fresh Air

Share

Photography by Scott Andrew

About the Venue

Anderson Ranch is a quaint, intimate and sophisticated venue engulfed in the beauty of the Wine Country. Located in Kenwood, 11 miles east of Santa Rosa, the property manages to perfectly blend  rustic charm and elegance! This wedding utilizes these elements to focus on romantic and soft decor, with a neutral, blush color palette and earthy tones. Anderson Ranch, which is actually a charming rental vacation home, makes you feel like your wedding is being held at a private wine country estate (because it really is!).
The turn-of-the-century Craftsman-style lodge on 75 private acres of Sonoma’s Valley of the Moon, offers breathtaking views in an intimate country-side setting. Giant oak trees surround the sprawling flagstone patio with a fire-pit to warm your guests. The warmth offered at Anderson Ranch is great for a small and unique Wine Country wedding. Surrounded by state parks, exquisite restaurants and wineries, there’s great places to visit and plenty of activities to do around the ranch. Even last minute shopping can happen at Chateau Sonoma!

 Ask the Expert

Photographer Scott Andrew admits why this venue rocks:

There are a lot of beautiful venues (especially in the Wine Country) that look like amazing backdrops for photos to the casual beholder. Anderson Ranch is a transcendent place for a photographer, because of the variety of looks and lighting that abounds. You can go from a French country-inspired house that has one of the most incredible interiors with such rustic charm, to a hillside vineyard with the unmistakable Wine Country sunset in the background. There are dense trees and foliage, open fields, statuary, artwork and of course a gorgeous flagstone paved ceremony site lined with aged oak trees.  As I mentioned, there are a lot of beautiful places in Wine Country, but I can’t think of any that have such a variety of aesthetics in a close, easy to access space as Anderson Ranch.  It is truly a paradise for photographers!
