Gundlach Bundschu winery wedding collage

Romantic vineyard wedding: couple embraces, ceremony begins

Photography by: Diane Askew Photography

About the Venue

Nestled at the intersection of Napa, Sonoma, Carneros, and the Mayacamus Mountains, Gundlach Bundschu exudes a sense of family, serenity, and leisure. Since its opening in 1858, the Rhinefarm Estate has welcomed visitors as they pass through the Wine Country. With over six generations of wine makers adding to the success of the vineyard, this family puts as much emphasis into the celebration of life as they do in the celebration of their award-winning wines.
This festive and energetic atmosphere at Gundlach Bundschu makes it a magnificent place to celebrate the beginning of your life together.

Ask the Experts

Diane Askew was able to perfectly capture the rustic elegance of this wedding combined with the inherent sense of fun because there are so many photo opportunities at this scenic winery. Whether you’re taking photos in the barrel room, amongst the growing vines, or on the outdoor patio, each one is sure to be beautiful in this setting.
For a vineyard wedding, I love using color schemes inspired by the natural setting. This bride’s use of a soft sage green perfectly accentuates the beauty of Gundlach Bundschu. Her bouquet of white peonies, pale tulips, and sweet peas is set of by the hints of green leaves and simple white ribbon. Sticking to simplistic design elements so as to not detract from the magnificent setting, the ceremony décor was kept minimal with simple floral arrangements in mason jars adorning the chairs. I love how thoughtful all of these details are – the beautiful and simple design elements achieve perfection when combined with the pristine beauty of the wine country.
The bride’s dress was absolutely lovely and tied the whole wedding together. The simple design but fun style and shape work wonderfully with every other aspect of the wedding. The dress isn’t fussy but rather whispers a quiet elegance with a surprise pop of fun in the green sash and matching tulle.

I Do Venues wants to recognize the talented team of wedding professionals who helped to make this bride’s dream a reality: Photographer – Diane Askew Photography, Designer/Planner – Holliday Weddings, Florist – Lavender Floral, Cake and Catering – the girl & the fig, General Rentals – Wine Country Party & Events, Entertainment – Hot Club of San Francisco.
