The simple theme–Be Mine Forever–blends romantic, vintage elements with a feminine color palette. The sequence of events involves a winter walk to find skates & warm blankets set up on the edge of a private pond. As Nik bends down to help Angel put on her skates, he pulls out a Tiffany box and surprises her with a ring! After enjoying sweet time ice skating, Nik leads Angel to a vintage outdoor living space, filled with a mini cake, macarons, valentines, and bouquets of flowers, where they can relax after skating, celebrate their brand new engagement, and hatch plans for the future. This shoot highlights the talent of our colleague Elizabeth Anne and her new proposal planning service, as well as the gorgeous work of several other fabulous Minnesota vendors.

Always so fun for us to see wedding inspiration from all over the world. Especially from one of the world’s most romantic locations, Italy. Varese Wedding designed a St. Valentine inspired engagement shoot at Formazza, an alpine valley in the Italian region of Piedmont. The owner of this rustic farmhouse is passionate about the environment and produces butter, cheese, jams and other eco-friendly products. Sounds amazing to us. The idea was to give everything a hand-made and eco-rustic mood. The color theme was of course a Valentine’s red and the wood color was almost present on the couple’s dresses, desserts, heart-shaped cushions, save the date and the sweets. The “Save The Date” was created by Valentina of Cut and Paste. It was made of carved light wood and placed in a red felt envelope.

Jake and Emily both love Crested Butte, CO and spend time there with friends every summer … it was the perfect location for their styled elopement session. They are a very active couple who enjoys spending time outdoors together, so it was a must that their environment reflect their spirit of adventure.

You’re engaged – you want to have a super fun party to celebrate your recent engagement and you just so happen to be a diehard Footloose fan. Well, that works out perfectly because so is  Events by Sarah Elizabeth. Using vibrant flowers, music inspired props and some vintage rentals, this Footloose Themed Engagement Party will not only wow your guests, but it will also present a perfect excuse to dance the night away. After the original thought entered my mind (diehard Footloose fan here) I scrambled with how to involve the different elements of the film while maintaining unity. There are so many different elements of Footloose that you could grab a hold of and run with. I chose to focus on the color, music, rustic farm town feel.

A lot of brides are looking for ways to make their weddings unique, certain elements that will really wow their guests. This Footloose shoot contains many elements that can easily be used in a wedding. As with any event the details and how they are used are what can really make an event and tie everything together. For this shoot we incorporated elements in the centerpieces that weren’t just flowers, the books, the tapes the records – all important details from the movie. Coming up with distinct details that can go on the table to accompany the flower arrangements is always a detail that pleases.

I LOVED using streamers in this shoot – I don’t think I’ve used streamers since…. I can’t remember! Maybe you don’t want paper streamers at your wedding…luckily there are so many alternatives that create an elegant atmosphere with that fun streamer feel – ribbons, stringed flowers, fabric and more!

An important thing for brides to remember in decor is the actual furniture. Maggpie Rentals provided us with great tables and chairs as well as the awesome buffet and props! If we would’ve used a standard banquet table with white folding chairs the “feel” of the shoot wouldn’t be the same. Have the elements to give it that farm feel was key!

There are many different ways for brides to incorporate themes/styles into their wedding day to make it a truly unique experience that represents them as a couple. Every couple has a different concept as well as budget and the most important thing is staying true to what you want! You don’t get to rewind and do the day over so make sure the decisions you make are what you want!

Yay you are engaged! It is time to plan for the biggest and best party of the year… your wedding! Alia and Josh are a super colorful and endearing couple with a pretty amazing story. Actually, the New York Times did an amazing write up about them and you may have also seen Alia on Say Yes To The Dress. To say the least, the couple is pretty amazing.

We have highlighted a few of the major points in the article, but for whole story click here. With the help of Dream A Little Dream Events they had a ceremony and celebration to match their spectacular story.

It was a 2 day event. First they were married at San Francisco’s City Hall. The ceremony was attended only by immediate family members, a tradition started by Dr. Creasey’s parents, who wed there in 1975. Followed the next day with a larger beautiful ceremony and party at Alia’s families private home in Calistoga.

Josh and Alia, both medical students met during a rotation at a family medical clinic in Manhattan. Alia never imagined the words, “My hearing is not so good” to be the ones that started a beautiful relationship with the love of her life. Josh was taking Cisplatin, a chemotherapy drug that can cause hearing loss, to help treat testicular cancer. Josh fought his cancer with 19 difficult rounds of chemotherapy along with three surgeries. Read on to learn more about Josh and Alia and their sweet love story.

Influenced by the Mandela and Timmy’s young, fun, urban style – Delbarr Moradi and Enjoy Events Co created an oh so stylish San Francisco engagement shoot. Complete with a wildflower bouquet and few vibrant props. Of course there are more photos to see in the full engagement gallery that you must see.

This shoot was a collaboration between myself and the amazingly talented and creative ladies behind Enjoy Events Co We brainstormed and incorporated Mandela and Timmy’s young, fun, urban style and wanted to bring it to life. We set the tone around the idea of Navajo prints mixed with the outdoors. Megan and Emily gathered some antique vessels, Navajo patterned pillows, hung a sheer backdrop, created a wildflower bouquet with a few vintage boxes to tie the look together.

The location was in Point Reyes. A Gorgeous area with tons of lush rolling hills. We shot at Drakes Bay Family Farm, a spot that is near and dear to Mandela and Timmy. Parts of the sand is covered in Oyster shells which created Such a unique element to the shoot. I especially loved all the old shipwrecked buildings next to the glistening water.

If Dorthy got and engaged and had her engagement session photographed at a pop up carnival, this is what it would look like. Ruby red slippers, Ferris wheels and some vintage theater masks is exactly what she would have had.

The entire shoot had a vintage modern feel with the beer barrels, ribbons, burlap and lace being the inspiration. The ever so adorable Krista Mason Photography was the master behind the camera.

Ariel and Paul are getting married at the Ivy Room, Chicago in May 2011. They live in London but met, and later got engaged, in Rome, Italy and were keen for their engagement pictures to reflect the overwhelming romanticism of the Eternal City.

“When we started dating, Ariel lived in New York and I lived in London, so our time together was limited” says Paul “when we were together we loved nothing more than exploring each city, cooking and eating out together; we thought that a picnic in the woods captured those themes perfectly”.

Stephanie Fay Photography recently had the pleasure of visiting Ireland, and shooting the wedding of Deidre and John at the Killruddery Estate. These breath taking grounds have been seen in many movies : Becoming Jane; The Count of Monte Cristo, and even more famously Far and Away. Since 1618, The Killruddery Estate has been one of Ireland’s most gorgeous treasures and is still home to the 15th Earl of Meath. The gardens are the oldest in Ireland, retaining the original 17th century style.

A incredibly adorable engagement session in the back fields in McKinney, TX. Captured by Sara & Rocky Photography a Richardson, TX wedding photographer. Ashley and Chris brought along these super duper cute, “I Do,” signs that added a little extra something to their engagement photos. Ashley bought the letters at Hobby Lobby and painted them herself.

Onada Photography sent us Nicole and Roosevelt’s engagement session which, took place in Philadelphia at the Kimmel Center for Performing Arts. Loving Nicole’s tangerine and grape jelly color combo, simply delightful. Thank you so much Bola for sharing these lovely photos with us.

First off I have to share there are so many more cute photos from this engagement session over at Kim & Niki’s blog. That I know you will super LOVE. On that note I also wanted to suggest if you love and e session print out the photos of your favorite poses and share them with your photographer.

The photos were shot on the bride’s ranch in Woodside, California and a nearby laundry mat. The couple was willing to have fun and do a little role-playing and the results were fantastic!  You can see more on their blog.

To top off our Engagement Session extravaganza, Chenin Boutwell sent us this uber adorable engagement session. Loving the tandem bicycle and the vintage inspired feel of the photos. Hi Jocey and Amy!

So I am an avid blog reader of yours, it’s one of my wonderful ways to unwind from the everyday work life. Anyway my fiance and I are getting married in September with a vintage theme, which I can’t wait for!
The photos fit our relationship perfectly and they are so personal: they are completely uninhibited; they show our love for both Suzy (our 7 month old English Mastiff) and our Harley Davidson; and a nearby quaint town where we spend lots of time enjoying our days off whether it’s at the winery, on the river or just antique shopping. – Jenny

Shelley sent us a sneek peek of her e session at a Sacco’s Bowl Haven in Davis Square, Somerville, Mass. They are getting married this fall in Boston this fall at the historic Wang Theatre. Their photographers are David Lee and Jo Kaplan Lee of Allegro Photography, did a great job.

It is such a wonderful idea to do something you love in your engagement session. Weather it be bowling or roller skating. Water sports might be a bit hard but you get our drift.

Danielle Fletcher sent us this lemon yellow eye candy. You can see more of her work by visiting her blog! It makes me want to run in the fields in a lemon sundress with bloomers and cowboy boots.

www.foreverbykylene.com had a super fun engagement session recently that we think you would enjoy. Very vintage and very fun. The entiere session happened at the couples house that already has a retro feel. They both dressed up and the had a wonderful time. I love the gum ball machine, I wish I had one in my house, pretty sure those would only last a few days here. Thanks Kylene for sharing.

Caroline Tran sent us this vintage inspired engagement shoot. Complete with a bird cage veil and fresh floral bouquet. Loving the fact that they are both in semi formal attire, Judi in a tea length gown and Rex in shirt and tie. Compeltely perfect.

Judy and Rex both have photos from their parents wedding that they wanted to emulate. They’re planning to have their parents photos displayed next to theirs. That’s going to be so cute!
