They both are part of the WC and both equally talented. Susie and Dan are tying the knot and will be dishing the dirt on their up and coming Mad Men inspired wedding. Now you know it will be good because there a ton of incredible vendors coming out to put on this modern roof top shabang. So everyone, meet our Susie.

“Hello, all! I’m Susie.  It just so happens that my fiance and I are two Wedding Chicks team members who are tying the knot this October. We only work behind the scenes here, so writing a post is a little odd (but fun) for us.  Both Dan and I are so excited to share all the details of our big day with you!

Lets be honest here–I am the luckiest bride in the world.  Amy and Jocey are wedding goddesses and are helping us plan the fun, sweet, unique wedding of our dreams. Can you imagine having the WEDDING CHICKS themselves helping to plan your wedding?  Yeah.  It’s kind of nuts.  Awesome nuts, but still nuts.

We’re having a Mad Men inspired wedding, filled with 60s inspiration and fun retro surprises.  Carrying the 60s thread through all of our details has been my favorite part of planning so far.  We knew the Save the Dates would be important to setting the scene for our guests, so we decided to make them an obvious nod to Mad Men. I recreated the show’s logo but transformed the silhouette of the single man sitting alone into a couple in each other’s arms.  The “Mad Men” title was swapped out with “Madly in Love”, and the colors were altered to match our mod Orange, Gray, and Aqua color palette.

I sent my own design off to the printer, but we thought it would be fun to share as a customizable download for you to print at home.  I made a few small modifications to my design to make it work as a download, and voila! Click here to make your own.

Design Tips:
1) The “IN” will always be the same color as the background color. “LOVE” is always white. Keep that in mind as you choose your other colors.

2) If you want the full bleed (so the color goes all the way to the edges of your paper), print each centered on a full sheet of letter size card stock, or save paper by printing two per sheet, with the design at a size of 6 inches wide by 4 inches high.  Then trim them down to size with a paper cutter, or even easier, just take them to Kinkos and have them cut for you.

3) If you want to take the theme a step further, send them out as postcards with vintage stamps.  I found a large selection of unused stamps from the early 60s on Ebay that we’ll be using on ours.

4) If you’d like to use your own fonts and colors in the custom text area, just leave those fields blank when you create your image with our custom tool. Then you can open the file in another program, like Photoshop, and place your text in the fonts of your choice on top of the design.

We’ll be sure to share the final official save the dates with you here when they are printed and ready.”
