We have something super special to share with you today from Rachel over at B9 Objects. Who happens to be getting married this weekend. We cannot wait to see her wedding, which will be photographed by Simply Bloom Photography. Who you know we super heart.
So on with the DIY. Rachel created these amazing DIY vintage hankies for her Save The Dates, which where featured on Style Me Pretty. We asked her if we could share the template with you. Rachel created her Save The Date hankies using the YUDU. If you cannot get your hands on a YUDU, below are instructions on how to use an iron template.
We highly recommend you check out how Rachel (B9 Objects) packaged the whole thing together. Click Here To See Her Save The Dates.

1. Vintage Hankies {we know that it might be hard to find vintage hankies, a great alternative is going to the fabric store or on Etsy and buying fat quarters}
2. Scissors
3. Iron Templates
4. Pillow Case
5. Iron
Here is where it might get a bit tricky but we are confident that you can pull it off. So, when you down the template here. It is going to be reversed in order to Iron it on Properly.
What you need to do is print it out on regular paper first so you do not waste your iron on templates. Then go into word or any text edit program and type in your names and wedding date and reverse it. When you print it out, you can specify on the printer’s dialog box that you want it printed as “mirror”. Look under “preferences” when you click “Print”.
When everything is aligned properly you can use your iron templates.

PS I also wanted to mention that Lucky Luxe has amazing vintage Save The Date Hankies as well. I am pretty sure they where the creative wizards who started this. But, do not quote me on this. But, I higly suggest you go and visit their site to see some serious prettyness.

we are so glad you like it! we were so inspired by the silk screen versions and though the iron on would be a great DIY. (:
Thank you for sharing these! I get so excited to download your templates and these hankies are such a lovely little detail :)
These are beautiful! And exactly what I’ve been planning to do for my wedding! My fiance is in grad school to become a history professor and we both agreed that these would be the perfect way to represent us and wow our guests. Thanks for sharing!
This is an awesome idea! I would love to make them for my bridemaids!
I love those! I have a few vintage handkerchiefs from my fiance’s late Grandmother that we are going to incorporate into our wedding day in special ways. This would also be a beautiful way to honor her.

These are perfect…I have been looking for an alternative type of Save the Date and had been thinking of mini jam jars but postage a problem. I am going to enlist helpers and get DIYing! What a great find on this grey Friday (very drizzly in UK, as usual!)

I absolutely adore these hankies and would love to win some! I’ve already sent out STD’s for the wedding, but think these would be super cute as invites for my tea-party vintage inspired bridal shower.
these are amazing!
Pretty Handsome Paper (www.prettyhandsomepaper.com) does printed hankies as well. I’m certain I wasn’t the one to start printing on hankies, but I’m sure glad to be able to share my experience and craft with all of you!
Thanks so much for the shout-out! :)
THANK YOU! Once I saw this idea for STD’s I have been wanting to do them, but knew it’d be too much to have them made and I am not a DIYer so I wouldn’t have been able to come up with how-to on my own. So THANK YOU so much for sharing this! <3
This would also be an amazing idea for a ladylike shower! Love this!
Absolutely gorgeous. Will have to figure out someway to incorporate this concept into my wedding. May have to change the wording and use as bridesmaid gifts. :-)
What an incredible idea…creativity at its best.
Thanks for sharing this.

I have simply fallen in love with this idea ! I just had one question about mailing them. Any suggestions on how to mail them if you didn’t not want to have the extra expense of the card stock to wrap them around? Would you suggest just simply folding and then putting them in the envelope? Thanks so much for the tutorial, its fantastic!!
Wow, I’ve never seen such a pretty idea! I definitely will be trying my hand at this. Thanks for the amazing DIY!
I am so in love with this idea. This is is what I was looking for! I am going to do this for the actual wedding invitation. My save the date is going to be an old fashion telegram! Thank you for showing us how to do with out a screen! Thank you again
Can you tell me if you can see a line from the iron on transfer (like a circle). Is it stiffer where it transferred on. It looks like you can see the iron on fairly well in one of the pictures above. Thanks!
