Growing up in Kansas, Meredith and Ryan had known each other since childhood. They attended the same high school and college and began their relationship as teenagers. By the time they got engaged, they had been together for ten years. “In many ways, we’ve grown up together, learning how to navigate life side by side,” they explained, still energized by all they have to look forward to. Sharing a deep love for travel, the couple planned a trip to Portland, Maine, where Ryan proposed in front of a historic lighthouse. Meredith, typically the planner and keeper of the itinerary, never saw it coming. On the beaches of Portugal, Meredith and Ryan’s destination wedding planned with the help of Patrícia Esteves of Peach Perfect Weddings unfolded as an intentional blend of romance, elegance, and effortless celebration.

Castle-inspired venue in Portugal
Forte da Cruz, a castle-like venue along Tamariz Beach in Estoril, created a striking sense of place, as historic stone architecture was met with sweeping ocean views.

Midi-size destination wedding
Nearly 100 guests made the journey to Portugal, a turnout that surprised and deeply moved the couple. Grateful for the shared experience, Meredith and Ryan reflected that the celebration “felt like the start of a larger adventure” for their guests, their families, and for themselves.

Detail we love: custom Air Force Ones
The bridesmaids had custom Nike Air Force Ones that matched the color of their bridesmaid dresses.

Sunrise-inspired bridesmaid dresses
Bridesmaids wore individual hues, creating refined moments of color against the coastal and stone backdrops.

On trend: dramatic bridal details
Meredith opted for Hollywood glam to match Hollywood waves. She wore a fitted lace and beaded wedding dress from Grace Loves Lace with long sleeves and a dramatic low back. Her veil was a nod to the dress’s details with delicate lace applique.

Featured florals: white hydrangeas & roses
The ceremony, officiated by a close friend and photographed by West Rose Photography, was filled with natural light and layered with greenery. As the couple made their way back down the aisle as newlyweds, they were met with glasses of champagne — a celebratory moment in the spirit of the evening, captured on film by Something About Films.

Chef-forward food stations
Forgoing a traditional sit-down dinner, the couple opted for chef-led food stations by Penha Longa featuring pasta, paella, crepes, sushi, and even an ice cream cart. The approach encouraged guests to mingle and explore, rather than remain anchored to a seating chart.

Lounge areas for a refined reception style
Lounge areas, paired with a mix of table styles, reinforced the relaxed yet interactive feel.

Timeless detail: comfy dancing shoes
Later, the bride and her bridal party swapped heels for matching Nike Air Force Ones, making dancing and celebrating well into the night effortless.
