A Maryland wedding with the cutest custom menus you’ve ever seen

fitted satin wedding dress

Kimya and Conor met in Washington DC on Halloween weekend of 2012. Even in full KISS makeup dressed like Gene Simmons, Kimya caught Conor's eye, and he would tell you himself that it was love at first sight. A quick 10 years later, they said "I do" at the Chevy Chase Club on a beautiful fall day. Conor grew up going to this club with his family, and Kimya would go there every weekend in the summer with them, dreaming that one day they would get married on this golf course. Keep scrolling to see how Kimya incorporated her family's Iranian culture into this timeless and beautiful wedding day captured by Sydney Rae Photography.

White Orchid Bouquet

Type of Bouquet: Cascading

When Should I make this bouquet?
It's best to make your cascading bouquet with Phalaenopsis Orchids and Baby's Breath the day before or the morning of your event. This will ensure that the flowers are fresh and vibrant for your special day. Keep the bouquet in a cool, dark place until it's time to use it, and mist it lightly with water to keep the flowers hydrated.

Supplies
I0 Phalaenopsis Orchids
1  Sample Bunch of Bunch of Baby's Breath
Floral Tape
Floral Wire
Bouquet Holder
White Ribbon

Step 1 Trim The Orchids
Trim the orchid stems to your desired length, leaving them slightly longer than the final bouquet size to allow for adjustments.

Step 2 Create The Base
Start by grouping several stems of Baby's Breath together to form a base for your bouquet. Secure them with floral tape.

Step 3 Add The Orchids
Insert the Phalaenopsis Orchids into the base of Baby's Breath, spacing them evenly to create a balanced look. Secure the stems with floral tape as you go.

Step 4 Build The Cascading Shape
Gradually lengthen the Baby's Breath stems towards the front of the bouquet to create a cascading effect. Add more orchids as needed to maintain a balanced appearance.

Step 5 Secure The Bouquet
Once you are satisfied with the shape and size of your bouquet, wrap floral wire around the stems to hold them together securely.

Step 6 Wrap Floral Wire
Once you are satisfied with the shape and size of your bouquet, wrap floral wire around the stems to hold them together securely.

Step 7 Cover The Stems
Use floral tape to cover the wire and create a smooth, finished look. Trim any excess stems.

Step 8 Add Ribbon
Finish off your bouquet by wrapping a decorative ribbon around the stems, covering the floral tape. Secure the ribbon with pins or floral adhesive.

Step 9 Finishing Touches
Trim any stray stems or blooms to ensure a polished appearance. Mist the bouquet lightly with water to keep the flowers fresh.

Step 10 Enjoy
Your cascading bouquet with Phalaenopsis Orchids and Baby's Breath is now ready to be displayed and admired on your special day!
