An Italian Dream Wedding

From the Bride: When traveling with my family to Italy in 2010, I was standing inside a church on the island of Capri and I thought to myself, I can’t imagine anything more amazing than being married in Italy. At the time I wasn’t even dating anyone!

Little did I know that in the fall of 2011, I would meet someone who loves food, wine and travel as much as I do. Then, the choice was obvious. It had to be Italy for Jason and I! My mother is also from an Italian family, so needless to say, they were on board with the idea!

Communication is Key

My best advice: Finding a trustworthy and dedicated wedding planner that you can openly communicate with is absolutely key! Communicating between St. Louis, Missouri and Florence, Italy in different time zones was no easy task! But, Cindy made it easy, was really flexible.

But Wait There’s More!

Rewind to the day before this fabulous wedding and Jason and Lauren treated all of their guests to authentic Italian cooking lessons. Our mouths are already watering! After their fun in the kitchen the wedding party gathered on the candle lit patio to feast on their beautiful cuisine.

DIY Photo Runner

Our photo runner used down the middle of our long family-style table for the rehearsal dinner which featured old photos of many relatives on both sides of our families. I carried the photos with me and Cindy laced them together so that they cascaded down each side of the table onto the ground. It was such a neat way to honor all those who came before us and made us who we are together. It was special to know they were “there” even if not in person. Perfect for our family and food themed rehearsal!

Private Vow Reading

From Coastyle Events:
When you meet them and see the way they laugh and play together it is so easy to see why they instantly fell in love. They are truly two of the most beautiful people you will ever meet on the inside and out.

Prior to the ceremony Nick and Erica chose to exchange longer personal written vows during their first look. It was the most intimate and touching moment and set the tone for the emotional and romantic day.

Let Go of Control

You can plan up until the day before, but on the big day let go of control — your only job on the wedding day should be to enjoy it. Yes things will go wrong that day but be able to laugh it of and remember what the celebration is all about — You are marrying the love of your life and all of your loved ones have come out to help share in your joy.

Dancing Drinking & Desserts

My husband and I are not big fans of cake and we have been to so many weddings where we see huge (expensive) cakes going to waste. We thought about the desserts that we would like to enjoy after a night of dancing and drinking and that’s when we decided to have donuts and crumble pies instead
