Short and sweet ceremony

We had an outdoor ceremony by a waterfall fixture at the venue. It was short but very emotional. We had written our own vows, everything felt so personal. There were so many happy tears! We served a traditional 10 course Chinese banquet with custom wine and signature cocktails. Our favorite details were the blooming flower tea favors which symbolizes our growing love, our customized cake toppers that were designed by the Maid of Honor and our vow journals that were handcrafted by my aunt.

Spend time with your guests

Eric and I are high school sweethearts, and we share a lot of common friends over the years. It was truly reunion of a life time! The speeches were so touching; we are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends. There were so many great memories! We wished we had more time to party with our guests. This is the one thing, however it was never going to happen with a 10 course meal…. We almost started immediately saying our goodbyes to a lot guests right after dinner. Even though we paid a lot of attention to details, we were very realistic with the planning and never expected things would go perfectly. We were so happy with how the day went and are so thankful for everyone that made it so special.

Munchies Table

munchies table

How great is this idea? Putting together a table (similiar to a candy table) except it has snacks. Like – pretzels, popcorn, chips and maybe a nut mix. Provide guests with little snack bags and scoopers and you have a fantastic treat for your guests to nosh on.

Surprise Groom’s cake

At the end of the night, I surprised Eric with a Batman cake that I designed and had Cat from Sugar Baking make for him! His favorite DC character is Batman and I totally caught him off-guard with this cake – he looked so surprised when I presented it to him! He loved the cake so much that he ended up eating it all by himself for breakfast the next day!

Lilly Pulitzer Wedding

Bridesmaid in Lilly Pulitzer dress

Now here’s a new one! This entire wedding was built around the bride and her mothers shared love of the clothing company Lilly Pulitzer. Known for its funky and fun patterns, the Lilly Pulitzer theme made for an extremely vibrant wedding day that we could not get enough of! There is tons more to see of Dennis and Emily’s bold pattern wedding in Pennsylvania, so don’t miss a single moment, captured by Amie Schroeder Photography. Visit the full gallery.

The Lilly Pulitzer Lifestyle

From the Bride: Growing up, I fell in love with the happy prints of Lilly Pulitzer after my mom took me to my very first Lilly Pulitzer sale. This became a yearly tradition with my sisters and mom, she truly lived the Lilly Pulitzer happy and bright lifestyle! My mom passed away 3 years ago, and just two years ago I landed my dream job as an accountant at Lilly Pulitzer. Having Lilly Pulitzer bridesmaid dresses made me feel like my mom was there with us on our wedding day!

Handmade Accessories

I love to craft and wanted to make the wedding have a personal touch, so I made the groomsmen, fathers, and ring bearers their bow ties, as well as the flower girl hair bows. I also made the programs, the menus, all of the chalkboards, the centerpiece jars, the place cards and place card door, and the photo booth props.

Make A Shot List

A piece of advice I would give is to make a really detailed shot list for your photographer. Include people’s names, so your photographer can quickly call out who should be in each shot. Have a family member look over the list to make sure you get all the shots you want for your wedding! We had a big wedding party (and even bigger family) that this made things really easy for us to ensure we got all of the pictures we wanted.

Savor The Moment

My advice for brides to be is to really savor the moment. You spend so much time planning, and figuring out all the little details. The day itself goes so quickly! Take some time with your new hubby and take it all in! It is the best day of your life that is over in the blink of an eye!
