Don’t Second Guess Yourself

From the Bride: Make decisions with confidence and don’t look back on them with question. Nowadays, with so many fabulous wedding resources, it is incredibly tempting to second-guess the decisions you’ve already made about your wedding. Don’t. Use those incredible resources as tools, but remember that you made your initial decisions based on your gut instinct of what you felt would best fit your vision for the wedding.

Charming Industrial Venue

Summerour Studio has a beautiful mix of lush greenery and industrial elements, such as vines, foliage, and ivy-wrapped brick walls adorning the courtyard and dark wooden floors, a mahogany staircase, and walled windows enhance the inside of the studio. We played off of the charm of Summerour by including such details as candles in mason jars strewn along the windowsills, a wine barrel to display the cake, farm tables with lace runners throughout the room, and café lights throughout the courtyard and the inside area.

Keep It Simple

From the Bride: We wanted to keep everything super simple, calm and joyous; The Sanctuary at Admiral was the perfect place! Not only was it super close to our residence, it had a vintage, elegant charm about it that we fell in love with! It was the first and only venue we looked at! I wanted light colors because the venue had darker colors, including beautiful dark wood all around. I went with natural white linen tablecloths and light gray linen napkins.

What’s With the Nuts?

I wanted tons of glass and candles to give it that romantic feel, with earth tone flowers and hints of blush to match my dress. Because Jason is from the buckeye state of Ohio, we brought acorns into the design to bring in the earthy/park feeling, and tons of greenery to bring in the Pacific Northwest.

Unique Little Cake Topper

I thought a teacup on top of the cake along with a few teacups spread throughout the design of the tables would be perfect! But on top of the cake didn’t just sit any normal teacup. The teacup on top of the cake belonged to my Aunt Pammy who passed away from cancer.

TCU Purple Glam Wedding

wedding hair ideas

Dreams came true for Michael and Anna. They were able to marry at The TCU Carr Chapel. Which is rumored to be booked years in advance. What a great way to celebrate the start of their love story, by saying, “I Do,” at the exact place where their love story began.

Taking ques from their alma mater, they incorporated  the TCU purple into their  wedding day, which evolved into a purple glam masterpiece. You will love all the details, and there are even more of their day all captured by Ivy Weddings in the  full gallery here.

Fact vs. Fiction

From the Bride: Myth has it around TCU that Robert Carr Chapel is booked years in advance, so in all truth, I didn’t even consider it at first with that rumor in the back of my mind. I remember not being happy with any site we had run across, and out of pure curiosity, I figured I would contact Robert Carr Chapel so see if it was available. That email back had me ecstatic! Everything came full circle: we met at TCU, and we’d get married at TCU.

Lessen Nerves With A First Look

A bonus with the first look? We got all of our nerves out of the way! Thank you Matt and Ivy for recommending the first look, we are so glad we chose to share that private moment with each other. I remember being so relieved to just hug Michael, and from then on, we felt so much more relaxed and able to enjoy our ceremony and reception.

Private Last Dance

Our DJ recommended a private last dance at the end of the night when the guests were making their way down for the exit was incredible. We picked a song from one of our favorite artists, Imogen Heap, and it was a song that we’ve both loved for a long time. It was the perfect way to end our time at the reception.
