Real Bridal Flower Accessories

We are head over heels with this next wedding idea. Using Real flowers in lieu of a traditional bouquet, or in addition to a bouquet. Ranging from bracelets, headbands, necklaces, belts even your wedding garter. Of course you must use hearty flowers that would not wilt quickly and would retain their shape & suppleness throughout a wedding day.

Melissa Schollaert Photography and Birch Blooms were inspired by all of the dresses featured at 2012 Spring Bridal Collection. Many gowns included flowers or natural floral motifs created out of fabric, ribbon and other accoutrements. Many of these flower details were found not only on the gowns, but also worn as headbands or in other accessories. Such a brilliant idea. See more real bridal flower accessories in the full wedding gallery.

Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse Wedding

Amelia+Ryan have been together for 10 years! When they decided to finally tie the knot, they had a lot going on to say the least. Between Amelia currently studying to become a doctor and Ryan busy with his career they hardly had time to plan a big production. They decided that what they really wanted was a day filled with friends and family and that felt totally them. They used a minimal amount of vendors and instead enlisted the talents of the family and friends around them to create the perfect day at Figueroa Mountain Farmhouse.

They purchased fresh flowers and the morning of the wedding the bride and bridesmaids sat together and put them arrangements together using a variety of containers and vases. The groom’s sister baked all of the yummy reception treats including the brides favorite cake. The groomsmen helped tie up loose ends. The bride did hire Joy De Vivre to be on hand for the day of coordination and everything went off without a hitch. It was a relaxed day with fun punches of color in a gorgeous venue tucked in the San Ynez Mountains. All photographed to perfection by Jen Rodriguez Photography. Perfectly Peach Sonoma Wedding By Volatile Photography

New York residents Kim and Tom flew out to Sonoma last September to begin their search for a wedding venue. They wanted to have a California summer wedding, allowing their friends and family to experience Sonoma for the first time.

The couple had five appointments throughout their visit, but none of them felt like a fit. Before the couple headed to the airport to fly back to NY, Tom suggested they stop by Chateau St. Jean, even though they knew it was a tad out of our price range. As soon as they got out of the car, Kim looked at Tom and said, “Well, we have to get married here!” And that was how they chose their wedding venue. To read more about this Sonoma wedding photographed by Volatile Photography you must click here.

In place of a traditional wedding cake, Kim and Tom sliced into A single William Greenberg cookie cake. Also served, were black and white cookies resembling their cake which were from the same Bakery in New York. Guests were also treated with a Gelato station that served Honey Lavender, Salted Caramel and Chocolate Hazelnut. A fun, yet easy, dessert idea for you brides looking for a little something different.

We know that you will go nuts over this next wedding! Filled with thoughtful details and clear blue skies, this Beltane Ranch wedding, photographed by Edyta Szyszlo Photography, is overflowing with inspirational details. There are so many more handmade wedding details, so don’t forget to click here to view the entire gallery. You will be happy you did!

From the bride, Caroline:

“The inspiration for the day was definitely the venue itself. We wanted it to feel cozy, natural and effortless – so the decor would just blend in and highlight the beauty around us. I am an avid estate sale antique hunter and love the feel classic and simple that timeless pieces create. We collected over 100 glass bottles of all colors from many different places, with our favorites coming from the Alameda Antiques Fair, which is a huge fair on an old airport tarmac with an amazing selection of antiques of all kinds. we also found a lot of wonderful old lace as well as inherited some of my grandma’s lace to adorn the tables with the colored bottles. I wanted the flowers to have a wildflower feel and Leah and Rafael at Spiral Hand did an amazing job. My girls wore beautiful dresses of their choosing in muted ivories, blushes and pinks, and they looked incredible. I love that they can wear their dresses again! the boys looked great in grey slacks with ties we bought in Italy when we were on vacation, and black chucks, Andres’ favorite shoes. With the raw linen tablecloths, colored bunting flags my mom and nephew made, and gorgeous flowers, it was perfect.”

Elegant Peach Wedding Ideas

Britt wanted her wedding to be classic and elegant with a vintage feel and that relaxed Santa Barbara mood. In order to help fulfill her vision, she enlisted family and friends, and of course, one of our favorite coordinators, Merryl Brown Events. With their help, she was able to achieve this lovely peach Santa Barbara wedding, captured with beauty and grace by Jessica Lewis Photography.

Read on to find out more details from Britt below and of course there are so many more elegant peach wedding ideas to see. Click here to view the entire gallery.

From the bride, Britt:

“I designed the books on the table, but they were put together by Maggie Hammer in IL, who is a friend of my mom. The guests’ escort cards each had a place on them in lieu of a table number. If their card said ‘San Remy’ then the book at their table was ‘San Remy’. Each book had a write up of a different place Roni and I had been together. I also wanted to have pictures of the different places in the books. Each book also contained questions for the guests to fill out, for example, ‘What is one book that Britt should read and one that Roni should read?’ I wanted my wedding to be very personal. I also wanted to have lasting memories; so many people had told me that your wedding night flies by and it was very hard to remember. I wanted to have peoples thoughts and memories from my wedding forever. I chose fabric over ribbon to tie the books together with because fabric frays. I wanted the books to have a vintage feel and frayed fabric helped to do that. The fabric was tied in big bows to give it a girly feel.

“One of my bridesmaids is an artist and drew out birds that were printed onto mugs that I used for wedding favors. She also drew the peony that was used on the escort cards. I wanted my wedding to be as personal as possible, so I did all that I could myself and what I couldn’t do (like drawing) I had my close friends and family do. More than anything I really wanted my wedding to be memorable and fun.”

Orange Wedding Ideas From Tokyo

This wedding comes straight to you from Tokyo and Sutherland Kovach Studio! We know you are loving the orange Fendi open toed pumps with the adorable bows! So incredibly cute. Reiko is Japanese, from Tokyo, and Baptiste is French, from Paris. They decided that Tokyo was the best place for them to get married. Reiko goes into detail about their special day so be sure to read on. Enjoy this international delight and be sure to view the entire wedding gallery here.

From Reiko The Bride

Baptiste and I both wanted to have an elegant and chic wedding. One thing I was really insistent upon was to wear a kimono (Japanese traditional outfit). Baptiste wore one in white and I wore one in purple, after the ceremony.

When we were choosing the venue, we had a few things in mind. The first was that it had to be beautiful; secondly, it needed to provide good food (usually, in Japan, a venue itself supplies food for a wedding, using a catering service is not yet popular), and third, it needed to have a nice garden. When we visited Ogasawara Hakusyakutei, we liked the place immediately. It had a beautiful marquee where we could have the ceremony, a big garden, and a nice patio and rooftop. Plus, it has a Michelin star so the quality of food was guaranteed. We had the ceremony and reception here, and then for the nijikai (afterparty) we went to a restaurant in the Aoyama district of Tokyo.

My dress was by Catherine Regehr, from Barneys NY in Tokyo. When I found it, I knew it was the one for me. It was exactly my style, very simple and elegant, and exactly my size. I had another dress from Robert Rodriguez for the nijikai.

Originally, I’d picked different flowers for each room at the venue, but the more I thought about it, that didn’t sit right so I simplified it, using just white and green. For the dining room, I added in a few different colors – a smoky pink, a lighter green – to create more of a vintage feel, which I absolutely love.

We’d planned to make a CD with all our favorite songs for the music but three weeks before the wedding, I thought it might be nicer to have live music. Though it was very last minute, I got lucky and found a quartet. I requested my favorite classical music (mainly Bach as the Brandenburg Concerto #5 is one of my faves) and they played beautifully.

Our wedding incorporated lots of traditions, and some we changed around a bit to suit us more. In Japan, the bride usually reads a letter to her parents to express her appreciation for them in front of all the guests, but I didn’t want to make it too personal, or just between me and my parents. So, we made a slideshow of pictures starting from our childhoods and going through to the present, and including our parents’ wedding pictures. We also presented our parents with teddy bears that weighed the same as our birth weights, with our details embroidered on them.

I loved planning this wedding, and I am looking forward to celebrating again at our French wedding which will be held in Paris in October!

Classic Peach Wedding Ideas

Be Inspired PR shared with us Kristy Rice of Momental Designs 10 year anniversary. This big renewal bash that was an eclectic mix of vintage finds and artful details. From depression glass centerpieces to hand painted western novel invitations and a Sylvia Weinstock Cake inspired by Kristy’s artwork, the couple infused every last corner of the 1800′s Victorian summer home with details that spoke of their personality and life together. Read on to learn more details.

Be sure to see the entire gallery of this lovely day by clicking here

THE INVITATIONS: After a magical time in Zion National Park renewing our vows we could hardly wait for the big party in Pennsylvania to celebrate with those who were unable to travel. Bringing a touch of the southwest to our party in PA was really important, so when I found this collection of Zane Grey Novels I knew I had to include them somehow.

Zane Grey was a prolific western adventure author who spent the later years of his life in Pennsylvania. The historical landmark that once was his home is 45 minutes from ours! The symbolism was perfect; western writer who spends his later years near our hometown. And the price wasn’t too shabby either; only $0.65 per book at a local vintage shop!

Betsy Dunlap’s work has been present throughout our renewal invitations and save the dates so I saw it fitting to have her create an image that I could have turned into a rubber stamp. I knew hand painting 75 books would be a chore but didn’t want to make it an impossible task. Betsy penned a frame of text that repeated the words “Kristy and Adam 10 Years.” I then imposed one of my Cosmo illustrations and sent the image off to a stamp maker. White acrylic was brushed onto the stamp and voila, our altered book invitations were begun!

Each bloom was then painted with various color inks; four shades of orange and red, a touch of gold, and three shades of green. Rich, heavy strokes of color were added to each bloom to contrast the rough, water-stained shape the books were in when we found them. Black velvet ribbon acted as a simple bookmark to discover the page in the book where the actual invitation was adhered. Betsy also created the calligraphy for the kraft paper address labels, which were adhered to boxes that contained the party invitation and Zane Grey novels.

Monique Linen By La Tavola Linens

One of our amazing Southern California Wedding Design & Coordinators, Joy de Vivre shared with us some creative inspiration to personalize your sweetheart table. Entirely inspired around La Tavola‘s Monique linens. Yes, they are named after the renowned designer Monique Lhuillier. Lucky for you, Joy shared with us exactly how she pulled off this utterly romantic sweetheart wedding table. Read on to learn more.

I used two lovely armchairs in blue and pink that belonged to my husbands Grandmother Bessie Lou, and set them on either side of a small square table covered in the Monqiue linen from La Tavola. Kelly Kaufman of Florette created the most beautiful arrangements of dahlias, peach garden roses and passion vine that sat in a sweet silver urn in the middle of the table. I used the beautiful Sevres China in blue and pink from Classic Party Rentals, which sat upon their gold antiqued glass charger. To keep with the tea theme, I placed one garden rose inside a gold and blue tea cup from Anthropologie on top of the china, with a sweet message that read “Once upon a time…” on one, and “Happily ever after” on the other. For glassware, I chose the beautiful gold rimmed wine, water and champagne glass from Classic Party Rentals. I placed a few cracked glass votive holders with gold rim around the table, and hung a great empty gold picture frame above it.

A Real Texas Outdoor Wedding

A Real Texas Wedding

Who loves Harrison Studio? We do!

Ben & Laura sent over this charming Texas wedding that was quite charming if I do say so myself.

Here are some fun details about this wedding from Ben & Laura

First off, this couple are seriously two of the sweetest people we have ever met.  We don’t just say that b/c they are our clients, but they seriously were incredible people and we were so blessed to get to document their day. A few fun details about this wedding, the wedding ceremony took place at the oldest baptist church in all of Texas (Independence Baptist Church established in 1839) … the original organ is still there and many of the lighting features etc so neat to photograph in such an old church.  It was so stinking cute! The reception took place a few miles away from the church at the grooms family ranch (this is straight up Texas style!!). Everything was so adorable and fitting for this couple. It was a true celebration of their marriage and we were so happy to be a part of it!!

Laura and Josh were married in Brenham, Texas and had a tradtional church wedding.

The Caramoor an Amazing New York Wedding Venue By Chris Humphreys Photography

Peach Wedding Ideas

We are always searching out amazing venues to share with you, so when Chris Humphreys Photography sent us this stunning New York Wedding we definitely wanted to share.

Jen and Marco where married at The Caramoor, which is primarily an outdoor venue, with over 90 acres of woodland trails, rolling hills, sparkling vistas and a superabundance of exquisite flowering gardens. Sounds absolutely stunning to me. They have several areas that you can hold your event. The Rosen House sounded awesome. Containing sculptures, paintings, 16th century tapestries, wrought iron, stained glass, and carved pilasters is ideal for an exceptional wedding ceremony for 190 guests. Dinner may be held in the Formal Dining Room, which is lined in stunning 18th century Chinese wallpaper.

Peach Wedding Flowers

Jen and Marco also used another one of our favorite preffered vendors, Lyndsey Hamilton Events. The details where pure elegance from the flowers to menus to the place settings Just Gorgeous! I adore the escort cards with the two love birds. You know we love the kissing birdies. Of course, a special nod to the cake… breathtaking.

Amanda Suanne A FL & GA Wedding Photgrapher

Amanda Susanne is our kind of girl. She loves love cream soda, big sunglasses, and pickles! She has two dogs, she loves to go shopping and paint her nails. Amanda would fit right in with us. We both have dogs, Amy has a Kitty as well and we love shopping. Usually whenever Amy and I hang out we get our nails done. For my birthday Amy bought me the cutest sunglasses. Dharmas by VonZipper. Super big and so incredibly cute.

Well enough about all of us on to Amanda’s very fashionable wedding! Fernada and Jorge were married at Trios in Atlanta, Georgia. Her gorgeous gown is by Melissa Sweet and his tux is by Hugo Boss! This whole event looks like a fashion spread. Fernada’s fur shrug reminds of vintage Hollywood glamour.

Peach & Plum

plumandpeach.jpg

Choosing your colors can be a bit daunting and at times, the colors all seem to blend
together and you get lost in a sea of pinks, purples and chocolate browns. The chicks
would suggest choosing one primary and one or two accents. Then be sure to carry the
colors throughout your big day from your bridal bouquets, wedding stationery, table
decor, bridal entourage, boutonnieres, shoes, and of course the cake.

A bride shared her color palette with us today and we had to share it with you! We loved
the idea of her color scheme, peach and plum! Of course you can see that the chicks
are huge fans of peach. Platinum Weddings by Kerrie will be planning her fabulous
wedding and we cannot wait to see some detail shots.
